94170015 issues other than boost issues! please help!

Hey gang,

FIXED THE ISSUE, SEE MY LAST POST!

So I switched my car over the Tephra's v5.10 patch, the only thing I really use here is the map switching, ICS mods (spray on knock etc...), and cel flash on knock. I was out tuning last night and came acrossed something very odd. When I am low RPM (Under 1900 RPM) and high gear (crusing on the highway or just taking it easy) and I hit the gas at 1900 RPM the car falls on it's face and bucks horribly bad. Last night I was working on my GM ecu based direct boost tables and WGDC tables so I didn't worry about it.

So today I went out and got some logs of it happening to see what is going on. This happens in 3-5 gears below 1900 RPM, once it hits 1900 RPM the car goes crazy lean, IPW flatlines at 3.3v, and the car bucks like crazy. I have a link to a 3 gear log of this happening, I am only at 50% TPS going around 20-25 MPH.

BTW I am running a MAFT Translator and GM 3" blow through. Never had any issues of this nature until I switched to this v5.10 map, just a FYI.

Link to 3rd gear log: Click Here

The first thing I thought is that I had Valet turned on or NLTS shift enabled somehow, but I don't as you can see below its disabled.

Let me know if you guys have any ideas....you guys know my track record, I know how to tune EVO's. I would not be asking for help on this if it was something stupid but I am just stuck on what it is.....maybe something in the ROM (i hope) because I am stumped....

Thanks,
~Zach

OK, I will give that a shot, hey anything will help out about now. The only thing I am confused about is that the boost enhancement is set to 2500 so why at 1900 is it "bucking". You would think if that was the issue it would "buck" at 2500 RPM....

I will change it to what you have and give it a shot...

Thanks,
Zach

I was in the car when this was happening. Very weird, just driving normally. Looking at the logs load is rising as little bit or at least holding steady. However IPW drops to 3.3ms or so from about 5-6ms. The air Hz is fine as well. So, the car is seeing correct airflow and density. However for some reason, IPW is taking a dive and the car goes horribly lean to the point of misfiring/shutting off. It goes off the charts lean.

Could be, I will dump in some cleaner just to see, but the car runs great other than that. At WOT it's an animal and as long as I start above 2100 RPM or so on low RPM partial throttle cruises the car accelerates fine. If I start around 1500 RPM the car will "buck" at or around 1900 RPM.....

I am going out now to put in some fuel cleaner and run some different maps I made to test out what causes the issues, I am even going back to a bone stock map just to see....

I will post up my results shortly...

Fixed it! Apparently you cannot set your start and stop value of the boost enhancement anti-lag to 2500.

I put back to stock values and that fixed it. Antilag start at 2500 and Antilag stop at 4531.

Anyone have any clue why that would make the car behave the way it did?

What do these values do on an VIII anyway? I thought the IX's were the only ones with lean spool on/off?

I also changed my wastegate solenoid activation RPM table to the following:

Reactivate ON 2250
Reactivate OFF 2156.25
Deactivate ON 7500
Deactivate OFF 7500

As recommended here:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=274423

The stock values on the 94170015 ROM were:

Reactivate ON 2000
Reactivate OFF 1906.25
Deactivate ON 3250
Deactivate OFF 7187.5

Can anyone explain what the things above do and why some people in the post above changed them?

Thanks razorlab for the suggestion!!

~Zach

Whatever it is, it messes up the car when you change it....

Thanks for the hard work on the patches and at first I thought it was a patch issue, glad it wasn't though....

you have to change the address for the 4531 when you edit the map to 1684 i think. Then you can change the rpm to your redline.
