i hope i'll have some time to refine all the settings/for VTA bov/3bar and such, but they are safe as it is. i've done millions of logged pulls to check afrs/cruise/etc.

if you want to log idle trims and set up injectors, i suggest you flash back to the OE rom so the patch is not skewing stuff. once dialed, input injector scaling/info in the map to maf rom. that should be it.

Thanks Bez you are the f*&^ing man too.

Yea I switched over all my scaling and latencies into the patch with all the other stuff.

My car never fell to such a rock solid ever. Getting everything set up for the JDM MAP would be sweet as well. Id like to switch to one soon now since I don't have to buy a stand alone that way I can finally log me some boost

Thanks again boss if you were in the tri-state I'd buy you a hooker Ooops I meant a beer

Ok. I have been driving around for three to four days now. Like I said the idle is fixed however, the one thing that still remains is the AFR's going silly during idle. 2-3 times it has stalled cause it just went too lean.

AFR's jump around at idle.

The car will idle down on the rich side before going full lean and sounding like I have I have monster cams. Then it will bounce back to try and even out to 14.X sometime it'll jump to full lean again.

WTF is going on. one thing I did notice though that I will address tomorrow is I see one of the rubber grommits that the injectors sit in is raised just slightly

my afrs are never great at idle because of my maf pipe. i've never stalled though...it does bounce around, but maintains idle.

you might have to raist the 3 VE points in the MAPtoMAF VE table. try up 10 for all three--actually, try changing the 1250RPM to 255 and leave the other two. i haven't logged anything yet so this is still in the alpha stage/i have no way of knowing exaclty what it's doing!. sorry its not perfect.

does it die on throttle tip-in at idle, or just from idling?

EDIT: the afr stuff may have to do with the turbo's vortex effect--wtf does that mean lol/actually no it doesn't because everything is PERFECT with the stock maf snorkel. what you experience is exaclty what i experience too. my car just never dies anymore...so there might be more map_to_maf tuning/fixing needed. I know it is possible, but i gotta log this stuff first. Thanks a lot for your input.

i'll play around some more tonight.

lol double post.

try this:
IMG deleted. these settings would have caused linear MAP only mode. after 18PSI PIG LEAN LOL.

its a happy medium for me. idle is WAY better, there is SOME swinging of AFR's, but only when lifting off, then it stabilizes pretty well according to the o2 trims. i clipped the 1250 value as its useless, maybe the 1000 could go too, idk. you can adjust up and down in 5 increments both at the same time to see the effect on the trims.

i logged the addresses i posted, but i got the resolution/scaling all wrong or something so it sucks. also, make sure if you do try this, watch your afrs after 10
psi and make sure all is good. I couldn't do a WOT pull or even light throttle pull anywhere...it should be ok. seems like the truncated MAP CAL values are required to look like this for a stock MDP.

the offset is scaled wrong, i'll investigate unless someone speaks up before me. i'll play around with the addresses so I can get bez's output. i must have overlooked his scalings somewhere...

i should have this dialed in once I familiarize myself with the whole logging thing . let me know whats up.

lol TRIPLE POST!

hey, i'm gonna be more active on this during this long weekend.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE NEW SETTINGS YET-ANYONE. I WILL DO THE WOT PULLS AND SUCH FIRST AND REPORT BACK.

i'd like to get some good graphing going on too and doc the changes.

thanks for your patience.

The stumbling I was talking a bout the car was just sitting at idle swinging lean.

I just bumpped the first 500 and 1000 up 10 and set 1250 to 255. Its still going lean but didnt stall. AFR's look good in a 24 psi pull look to have went .2 to .4 leaner but i'll clean that up im sure this was here after the origional patch as well.

I think with a little work to these tables will be singing.

Thanks Again. Let me know how the 140 value for 500 and 1000 rpm work out

This patch is only for 94170015? I need for 96530006 and 90550001.

Oettinger, i will work the edm/'05 rom soon. my friend always wanted one of your vw grills for his a3 golf, you think you could send one over?

here's what this patch should looke like when somewhat propery used to tune the idle (pic below). we don't care about using for SD because we know there is more work to do. i added some more resolution which helps a WHOLE lot. now this may be too 'lean' for some, but should be close. my MAP cal and VE table are just results of logging afr's/throttle blips/drives/WOT pulls/etc. for hours. i also logged 0x898c (2byte-MAP emulated maf output), and 8988 (2byte actual MAF filtered output) if 898c is smaller than 8988, the ECU uses the MAP/MDP. 898c MUST BE BIGGER UNDER BOOST/THROTTLE/ETC. at idle it may flicker below the actual MAF value because it seems a better filter *might be needed. heres a short log at idle with settings below scaling is just 2byte airflow scaling fudged in to lower the number a bit/not throttle/idle 850ish rpms:

Code:
MAP_EMULATED_MAF ACTUAL MAF
49.82859375 22.70296875
46.68359375 22.408125
46.48703125 22.30984375
49.43546875 23.48921875
45.89734375 23.194375
48.7475 23.7840625
48.5509375 23.29265625
47.568125 22.30984375
27.02734375 24.47203125
46.09390625 22.50640625
23.5875 23.29265625
47.175 23.3909375
0.68796875 23.5875
45.0128125 22.30984375
23.29265625 22.408125
49.140625 23.48921875
50.1234375 22.2115625
49.43546875 23.48921875
48.25609375 23.09609375
25.94625 24.47203125
45.89734375 21.8184375
46.38875 22.80125
43.53859375 20.93390625
22.30984375 22.2115625
*not happy about the dips i see sometimes. could be ok though/need further investigation.

settings:
OFFSET must be no lower that 128.000 units big endian on a usdm mdp. lower will cause MAP mode and can be seen in logging. along with that, the first voltage of the MAP cal must be 0 and the latter 2 or 3 voltages 255 (4.5v-5vish) for safety as the patch will switch to maf whan these values are reached respctively.

temp compensation: haven't messed with it at all. 128's across the board.

there is still a lot of logging and tuning to be done, and also better MAP calibration (for 3bar too) and offset/ve tuning.

yes. i tested them on my evo 8. you might have to adjust the map to maf ve table.

rpm values 51-863 may need up 10 or so for your car. maybe a LITTLE more. try it out. light throttle/boost, monitor afrs then have at it.
