That value should only be used if you want to disable the EGR test as well.

Now that I have confirmation that I found the correct subroutine in the ECU code, the first post has be rewritten.

Now I am confused as in the rom I use, bit 4 is at 0 by default.

Maybe the 7 roms are different ??

Have you tested this? Does the ECU log faster or seem to respond quicker?

The code is a pretty small fraction of the total code length, so I doubt it would be a noticeable improvement in responsiveness, but every bit counts.

Mrfred,

I just got a call from danl - he has been driving the car around since you sent him the rom to try. He has not picked up the p0300 code and said he believes it was a definite success.

He is out of town w/ no computer access and wanted me to relay the message.

Ok looking at the JDM roms I have, they all seem to have bit 4 and bit 5 set to 0 by default.

However as I stated at the start of this thread, I have personally had the P0300 fault code come up twice, also another member on here has a JDM 8 MR and that too has picked up the P0300 fault in the past, but his rom is as above, set to 0 by default for bit 4 and 5
