I was hoping it would work on my 04 RS since others got it to work. No luck. Hoping I get someone to help me mod this 0007 or 0008 ROM to work with the knock vs RPM. On E85 right now I am lucky the P300 seems to be gone!!! But the phantom knock from run to run makes no sense other than the ROM is very sensitive. Was optimistic the 015 would fix a lot of those problems. When I changed the XML file on the 0007. Didn't work.

switched from 94170008 to 94170015 and had no problems. Car runs alot better, I did not disable the immobilizer, just copied by key over to the new rom. No problems yet..had this mod about a year now with no tuning problems.

It would be great if everybody that can switch to 94170015 would. It would keep people from having to find the same map multiple times in every ECU and would speed up the process of getting good XMLs and patches.
I went 94170008 -> 94170015 (Tephra5.10) and it works like a champ now. My first flash I think I did something to corrupt the rom as some of the values had definitely gotten corrupted and the car had some interesting driveability issues. Simply reflashing with a fresh version of the same ROM corrected the problems I was having.

So... being new at this. If i'm reading correctly, I can swap the 94170008 to the 94170015 and actually have better driveability in my car. Since my 0008 rom was tuned, I should make sure that all the changes are made on to the 0015 rom. But first I should install a virgin 0015 rom and then flash with the tune, Correct?
Or can I just flash with a tuned 0015?
Question...
* whats the diff of the tephra rom to the stock 0015 rom?
* should I just add the modded tephra 0015 rom and then do the tune transfer?
Any help would be nice.

You will need to do the following.....
1. Open both the 008 and 015 roms with EcuFlash
2. Copy over all of your tuned maps from the 008 to the 015
2a. To do this you will have to highlight the tuned portion then click Edit
2c. Then click copy.
3. On the 015 untuned map highlight the portion to paste the tune into then click Edit again and then Paste.
4. Now your 008 and 015 should look the same.
5. Repeat this process for every map that you had tuned in the 008
6. Transfer over your Immobilizer code (MUST DO THIS) or you won't start
6. Once all of the tuned maps are transfered over save the new tuned map as 94170015 Tuned.
7. Write the Tuned map to your car.
The Tephra map has a lot of advanced changes that many of us asked for. If you plan on getting involved in tuning you need to research the Tephra v5.10 for more information.
I recommend you start basic until you get used to the way all of this works. Once you get comfortable then change over to Tephra.

Bringing this thread back from the dead...
I have a 2004 Evo VIII SSL.
So- Is the general consensus that if my ECU is currently a 96420008 ROM can I (should I) load 94170015 ?
Thanks!

Also, when copying maps, make sure that you look and make sure that your scalings are the same. I know most with the Evo 8 rescale RPM and load depending on the map. Make sure you pull that across also.
