I made the switch from 0008 to 0015 and it runs good, mostly

I get very annoying knock as soon as I excellerate, the CEL light is flashing like crazy. This is the same tune I used from 0008 as well.

Make sure you remembered to turn off lean spool if you had it turned off on your other rom. If not then you are running lean with the same fuel map

Lean spool enable is 80 and disable is 224. I have no idea what it should be.

I too have the annoying knock flash at around 2400 RPM.

I turned up the down the knock sensitivity, but I still get 3 counts but only at WOT.

Timing does not get pulled so I just ignore the flash.

Oh and lean spool is disabled.

Yep I disable lean spool and it dropped AFR by almost a point. Used the same method as Appauldd. I found it in a thread i searched here on the forum. I'll try and find it and link it here is anybody needs it.

So- Is the general consensus that if my ECU is currently a 96420008 ROM can I (should I) load 94170015 ?

Thanks!

No. Stick with your current ROM unless you plan to run a tephra ROM. If you want to run a tephra ROM, then run the 96420011.

Thank you for answering mrfred, I appreciate it!

Actually while I have you- another quick question...are you still selling the JDM Evo 9 MAP Sensors?

Its for late model '04s. It won't work on early '04s without some other tweaks as tephra mentioned.

Bink, I'm not selling them any more. I'm too busy with my real job and hacking the Evo ECU. :-) There's a group buy in the ECUFlash thread, and you can also get them from mitsubishiparts.net. Just ask for the Evo X MAP sensor. Its the same as the JDM Evo 9 MAP sensor.

OK so the 03s should stay with the 94170015. Got it!

I think anyone with the 94170008 and 94170014 should upgrade to the 0015 just for the sake of eliminating the 008 and 0014 questions/issues.

For the sake of helping our wonderfule coders....please stick with the 0015.
