brakeup around 4000 rpm

for about 2 weeks i have been trying to tune my car but have been running into a little problem. on the freeway it has a little bit of a hesitation at cruse, not to bad but i little annoying. the big problem is under a full throttle pull it brakes up and starts stuttering at around 4000 RPM all the way to red line. the thing that drives me nuts is if i pull my foot off the throttle a bit i will pull all the way to red line without any problems. car setup right now is as follows. 97 eclipse running evo8 ecu with 96530006 rom, evo8 fuel injectors, MAFT gen2 w/3"gm set to EVO8 output, manual boost control set between 1.0 to 1.2bar, and tech-edge WB. right now according to my WB i am right around 11.0 - 11.5 from what i can tell. i have attached my log so you can take a look. i am changing my GM sensor tonight i am thinking mayby there is something wrong with it. is it possible i might be getting to much air? i am really not sure what a stock evo runs for boost. any help would be appreciated. thanks

PS i changed the evoscan log extension from .csv to .txt to up load it...

Maybe not the problem, but it might be worth checking your plugs/spark. I had lots of problems breaking up on my last 2G, which I solved by closing the gap on my plugs a bit.

plugs are brand new the wires are not, but they are on the list to change. then i had the factory ecu in i had no problem running 1.2 bar with the EVO8 injectors and the MAFT to compensate. i usually hit boost cut around 1.3 with the stock ecu though, couldn't seem to tune around it... but it never stuttered., it just went BOOM and tried to put your face in the windshield...... i think i will try closing the plug gap also. thanks for the tip.

Dunno if this helps but my clutch pedal was sticky and it caused nlts to kick in inadvertently.

It sounds like spark break up to me too because it happens at WOT and in the boost. Try gapping them in the around .025 and see what that does.

re gaped the plugs this last night and drove the car this morning. there is still a bit of hesitation at cruse and it still broke up at WOT. so just to see if maybe i was just being stupid i turned the boost down just a hair for the way home and the car seemed to respond good. i didn't do a full red line pull but i held it WOT to about 6000 and got a good strong pull out of it. guess i was just over the boost limit. now i feel like an idot...

You actually were fine for boost as far as the ecu goes, you may have too little fuel or too much timing at the higher load points. The stock evo runs about 1.38 bar or something like that(19psi), and there are guys running alot higher boost then that on the stock ecu.

You probably aren't over the boost limit as it cuts pretty hard, it doesn't break up the ignition and let you keep on it.

What did you gap the plugs to? I had my plugs at 0.030" and that was too big for 15psi on my setup, then gapped down to 0.025" and it has been good for now.

whats your timing curve set too???, try something conservative like 4* at peak boost going to like 12-14* at redline...
