maybe thats the key.

base idle should be "just under" your target idle...

That's possible and worth a shot for those having the problem. Maybe set your BISS idle to 750RPM (stock setting) and use the ECU to raise idle from there.

Edit: I just saw that you said your paypal emails haven't been coming through. I sent you a little the other day...not much, but another donation to thank you for the great work. Just wanted to make sure you got it.

I am not getting the p0505 DTC and i'm using the 96530006 ROM from the 96940011 USDM '05 ROM. It's strange that some '05's are having this issue, whilst others are not.

Tephra, when will your V7 be available for use? I'm using v5.10 with great success, but i would like to try V7.

Side Note: I adjusted my BISS to the stock idle of 750rpms, then set the idle to the desired RPM in the ROM. Maybe this is the key.

cool

V7T5 is can be used now. I know of several people using it with no problems.

I would think - barring anything serious - that it will become the final for V7.

Indeed.

I've been running it in my personal 05 for awhile with no issues and have probably tuned 10+ 05's with that rom (only use it on the E85 maps switchers) with no issues. I have however had one or two that have had that issue.

It's very odd that 2 out of a dozen or so get it but the rest don't.

I really want to use the altmap for my e85 tune but I found it necessary to also increase my injector latencies. Any thoughts on this? I could probably just find latencies that my pump and e85 tune are decently happy on, it just wouldnt be dead on.

The latencies you plug in are a function of the characteristics of your injectors. If the injectors you are using are linear, you haven't messed with the maf scaling (basically lying to the ecu about airflow levels), and/or any other lying to the ecu then you should not need to change latency values.

However fuel consumption is a characteristic that needs to be adjusted when switching fuels. Thus global injector size and startup IPW needs addressed.

For a data point I'm running 1000cc/min injectors. Just 2 hours ago I went from E85 that I had been running for 3 weeks back to 92 pump. After the ethanol ran through the fuel system you absolutely can not tell that I changed fuels except for the lack of in boost power.

My suggestion is to spend more time with the car. Along the way you will learn a lot of other things and find your problem.

If you've got the injectors scaled well, the same latencies will work spot-on for both E85 and gasoline.

yeah you will find that your current latencies might be "good enough" for pump, but not "good enough" for E85.

BUT finding the best latencies for E85 will also be the best latencies for pump...

So 96530706 can be used for any VIII? Any plans for a "universal" IX ROM?

96530706 can be used for any 8, except dual solenoid 8's, for which I will do a 96260009.

88570008 *might* become the official IX ROM... pending testing by various users
