i had a question about the new boost control and correction. Is there any load or PSI correction at part throttle or is the psi/load correction only taken into account at WOT? If i have 80% throttle subtract 10%WGDC i am suspecting i won't hit my target so will correction kick in?

As far as I understand correction is always active when you are above the min load for boost control. Yes this can increase your value at lower throttle... but only if your "Max Total Upward WGDC Correction vs TPS" table allows it to do so. In stock form on the IX there is 0 upward correction allowed to the interpolation point before 88%tps at which point there is up to 10% allowed.

yes of course

with TPS correction - yes like Fosty said - howevre V7 also brings TPS compensation, which is % based, so you can say %50 TPS, apply 60% of the normal DC for that gear/RPM...

so its pseudo TPS control over the DC ...

Quick queston, similiar topic...

I am noticing at cuising altitude...lol, rpm's are 2.8k~3.3k. I am holding the throttle at whatever position, lets say 35% or something. If I fluctuate throttle @ +/-5%, I get a 8-10 knock count. I am on the PSI based boost control. Any thoughts when you get a chance?

Is this something that the TPS position correction does? Only reason i ask, is the load is ranges from 60's to 120's when it knocks...

Or does this sound like a WGDC issue?

Thanks in advance?

Tephra, if that is for me, yes? I see it, and have not played with it, just wondering what it does, and if it could be a fix for my weird issue?

EDIT: Forgive me, my question might have been premature. I was reading how the TPS % reflected on the DC...

yes...

your knock sounds like the regular phantom knock of 4g63 - ~2500rpm 70-100load...

There's nothing regular about this phantom knock on the 9653 rom.

I'll save you my 3 page rant about what I think about the 96530006 rom coming from a very forgiving rom (96940011) after driving on it for a month or so now. And just put it this way. If I could get launch maps / 3D boost and 2 stage CEL on 96940011. I'd drop this rom like a bad habit and never look back.

My car never part throttle knocked like this before. No 4G63 I've ever owned part throttle knocks like this. I've changed lifters, removed AC. Still knocks all over at random. Every time I pull out... randomly when I shift, get on - get off, get back on... randomly... could be 3 counts... could be 10. Randomly, and all in vacuum.

So I don't think I would simply throw it in the bin as "4G63 phantom knock". And call it history. Because this rom seems to add it's own level of intensity to the problem. And boy does it **** me the hell off.

have you compared the knock filters from 96940011 and 96530006?

No, I have them for 96940011, but just the adder / low/med/hi - and gain settings for 96530006. Must be missing something. Or the actual filter tables I have for 96940011 are just out-moded and I don't have the matching addresses for that rom since I've been carrying my xml for some time now.
