i was just tuned for e85 and when i create boost sometimes the engine light flashes during WOT i was told that e85 creates false knock is that true or somehting i should be worring about....

Post some logs for us to take a look at.

Try reducing the timing in the area of the onset of knock. if the knock goes away, it's probably real knock and should be tuned out. If the knock doesn't respond to timing adjustments at all, then it may be phantom knock in that particular RPM range and can be tuned out with the knock tables.

I have yet to tune on E85, so others can chime in, but from what I have read, E85 is pretty knock resistant, although some say that peak load/inital peak boost still needs lower timing.

yeah ill grab some logs together car is in the shop right now just tryin to figure out the knock but thanks for the advice and ill post them when i get the car back

My car doesn't like any more than 3-4 degrees of timing at peak load (27psi- 3500rpm area). I can't start ramping up until about 4.5-5K. After that, you can really ramp it up to MBT. With the stock turbo and how fast it spools, you need to have lower timing at those peak areas. With a bigger turbo that spools slower, you can ramp up the timing faster.
That's just my car though. Maybe you should post this in the Alternative Fuel section so you get more E85 responses.

i was going to say the same thing. e85 doesnt cause false knock, but if you were tuned on e85 and they didnt adjust timing at peak tq then that is why. pump gas takes around 5-7 degrees, in my experience e85 doesnt like much more then 3-4 degrees. running 7 degrees when the car only wants 3 will definatly cause knock.
