If he is talking about periphery FAA bit 4 setting to be 1, it is already set to 1 at my rom.

Can you please describe Roadspike's fix in detail if it is related to the boost error problem?

Well if RS's fix didn't work (or is already set for you - as per u say) - then you will need to log the variable I said...

Ok, I will log the variable tonight.

Roadspike:

If there is something I miss about the closed loop control setting, please share the fix with us.

Thanks!

Ok, I sent the log file to tephra.

Boost error is still stuck at the minimum.

I also found my injectors are maxed out and I get leaner after 6500rpm than I want. I guess it's time for bigger injectors.

DANG....E85 loves timing. I wish I could run 8 degrees at peak....impressive. Looks like everything is working properly now.

I wonder if the issue is EvoScan related.

hehe only at low boost bro at 30psi it wont take that kind of timing.

The main problem i had was setting up the blasted boost Error and desired boost table to take into account that its psiA which is NOT psi.

So i had to add 14.5 psi to my base adder to directly control boost as needed.

Spool seems to come on a little late though. Might want to re-work the fuel and timing a bit to get some more spool out of it.

Sorry for being off topic.

Yeah thats 2nd gear for ya I suppose i could probably get it to come up earlier not totally sure how to do it though. Been concentrating getting this romid speed density fully worked out before beating on the car too much for optimum spool up

I think I found the problem !!!

Roadspike gave me a hint about the boost adder.

I checked my boost adder scaling, and it was set to PSIa8 OMNI4 barMAP !!!

It is supped to be a 16 bit value not 8 bit value.

So if I change that 14.7 PSIa in 8 bit value to 16 bit value, I get 3766.9 PSIa !!!

No wonder why boost error was stuck at mininum, I can never reach the target boost which is the addition of boost adder and boost desired engine 'psi' value.

Ah, I am so sorry for causing extra work to tephra and other members here.

I will test this out tonight see if it is solved.

Thanks for the help !!!

Darn scalings. Hope this works. That does ask another question... Should the Desired Boost and Wastegate Duty tables also be in 16 bit scaling?

Thanks again Tephra.

Ok, one more quick question about the gear based boost. Say I want my 1-3rd gear to boost higher than 4-5. I would utilize the low gear range to represent 1-3rd, utilizing the low WGDC correction range? High gear would be the opposite? I was assuming this was the theory behind the gear based boost?

Borrowing some pictures from myself

I'm assuming you setup the boost error tables correctly to handle changes in boost.

Now when you have the boost error correctly set you can setup the wategate duty and max boost in the right hand table here to be lower for gears 4 and 5 than the first three.

My example image shows a constant 30 dropping to 27ish psi but you don't have to follow that at all :P
