i had a bunch of talons and there was a capacitor in the computer that would leak causing the car to fuel cut every time at like 5000. hope no one bites my head off for this one just trying to help.

If you have boost controller, have you tried to turn down a bit and test again? I had similar before, even 1-4th gear, when tuning with my boost controller(Profec Bspec). I misunderstood the "mild" and "sharp" label on the controller, and kept to "mild" direction. But once I turned to more on "sharp" position, I don't have this "fuel cut".
