I cant say what it needs, as far as I am on pump gas, but my car ran about the same timing on the same boost level and afr on 2.0, but it was using different load and consuming less air.
I would say that my 2,3l cr 9.0 is less knock prone with more agressive timing than stock block, taking in account that it consumes more air.
