beginner at tuning, cant get AFR's to lean out up top

As the titles says i am tinkering with tunning my car and on WOT pulls after 5,000 rpms my car goes to 10.0 flat AFR's. I am wondering where to start to get the AFR's to lean out a little. I am new to this and am just looking to point in the right direction. here is my maps so far

any advise to get me going would be great. I am just starting out and this is my first Evo ever.

Mods are: 3" TBE, 272 HKS cams, 3" intake, evo9 turbo, walboro, 91 cheveron oct

Im surprised your not getting more knock with those high numbers on the ignition map in the 3-5k range. I guess its true every car is different.

You actually want the AFR to get richer on the top end .

I too am a new bee , others here would know more.

Have you used the MAPtracker feature in EvoScan? its quite useful showing the knock in the Map area so you then can see where to retard the timing to eliminate knock.

it always best to adjust timing first to get rid of knock then move up to Fuel map. then go back and forth.

Also I use Virtual Dyno and check each pull to see what the changes did to power and torque.

There will be a lot of iteration and going back and forth . I have lost power but now have no knock. So its a balancing game till you find the most power with the least amount of knock.

Holy fast timing, usually you ramp up a little slower I thought.

Have you read the tuning how to beginners guide?

I am also a newbie but I would go to the 9.0 cell at 5k & 260 load and bring it up to 9.4 or so and smooth everything else around it out from there...try and have only a .2 - .3 jump from one cell to another. If you lean it out you will definitely need to back timing down some. I would work on the 3500-7000 & 120-220 load cells...I see plenty of spots with jumps of 6* - 8* timing from one cell to the next. You want to try and keep each cell within 3* of timing from eachother...

I don't see a wideband in the logs so how do you know its running a 10.0afr? AFRMAP does not reflect the actual afr

Good call!!! yeah with out an WB02 sensor and controller or gauge i would not adjust your fuel map.

i have a AEM wideband in the car.. i just bought the cable to connect it to the laptop so i am going off of just seeing the gauge not actually going off the AFRMAP...

The knock has been there since day one before i ever started messing around with it. I have a open wastegate and i read that it can give false knock so i was going to get that plumped into my exhaust to see if it would go away.

I guess i might be reading my logs wrong because when i look at my calc load it shows i am only hitting around 200 load so i have been adjusting those load cells. so would i want to adjust cells that i am not hitting (or am i actually hitting those cells)?

to 05blue8-- yes serveral times but i continue to re-read it to see if there are changes to be made. I know my timing map looks insane but that thread says to take away timing once you see knock so i added timing until it knocked 2-3 counts and backed it down 1* until there was nothing

Nashou66 -- no i have not used those features yet but thanks for pointing them out i will start to implement them tonight

LoadCalc is inaccurate, I would log 1byte or 2byte load and use that to find where you really are on the map

And going off "seeing the gauge" is not entirely accurate...to view the AFR, RPM and try to link everything accurately is better left to EvoScan. My suggestion...wait to get the wideband reading in EvoScan

Get your WB to log or at least enabke the o2 sensor to log and do some more pulls but not before taking the timing down in the mid range
