Evo 8 rom flashed to an evo 7 ecu?
I posted this in the general EVO 1-9 forum, but since I plan on using ecuflash, it probably belongs better here.
I just bought what I was told was a 2004 Evo 8 ecu, but the part number on the case is MR560648 which seems to be an Evo 7 ecu. I bought this to put in my 1g dsm and already have built my dsm to evo ecu harness. Will I be able to flash an Evo 8 Rom and tune it like any other Evo 8 ecu, or should I get my money back and keep looking for an actual Evo 8 ecu? I compared the pinouts, and all the important pins are the same.

Huh. Well, that should have been obvious to me. I guess I was so fixated on the "Evo8 ECU in a 1G DSM in the works!" thread, that I didn't consider using anything else but an Evo8 ECU. Will the Evo7 rom have all the tunability and features that an Evo8 rom has?
Thanks for the suggestion. I could use the pinout if you have it available.
