New user here, need help on Evo 8 unknown ROM ID
Good day, I am from the Philippines and I just got a 2003 USDM Evo 8 2nd hand. I was able to download the ROM successfully but ECUFlash gave me unknown ROM ID error. I am uploading the actual ROM with this post, hope someone can help me with the definition files.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Bump! Really need some help with the definition files. I've tried all of the Evo 8 definition files but somehow the labels for Load and RPM are all screwed up. I don't know if that should be the case...
Also, no matter what definition file I use the immobilizer is always set at FFFF (which is to disable it)

High octane ignition: 39d5
Low octane ignition: 3b5d
High octane fuel map: 33bd
Low octane fuel map: 34d7
It looks like 94170015.xml has the same locations. It looks like the axes are the same size too. If yours doesn't look like that, perhaps grab the one from here and ecuflash can copy that when you load the rom.

Thanks for the replies dparrish and evonut. Unfortunately the problem is still the same. The target AFRs are all ok, the rev limit and other values seem to be ok. It's only the RPM, load, and immobilizer code that's a bit messed up. The RPM values go from 1125 -> 3250 without any problems but after that it becomes erratic. The load value goes from 120 -> 880 then becomes erratic. Any more ideas? Thanks!

Give this XML a try. I've fixed up the axes for the high/low fuel and ignition maps.
I'd suggest copying these maps into a known "common" rom like 94170015 and reflashing, or even make the switch to 96530006.
Are there any other maps you need to see at the moment on this rom?

Thanks! That did the trick for the high and low fuel maps. Actually since I don't know the history of the car I am just trying to find out if the maps have been messed with already before I send it to a tuner for dyno tuning. But with all the hassle in getting this ROM to work accurately with ECUFlash I am now thinking if it would be better to just look for a more common stock Evo 8 ROM, flash that and then go from there...
