No need to bench, just use ecu unlocker.

I am having the same problem. I wasn't able to read my ecu with ecuflash at all. No response to any known code - Interface close. Check this thread.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...tart-here.html

I ran the unlocker and got about half way through downloading my rom and it gave interface close again and I gave up and went to bed (5am start next day). I'm going to work some more on it tomorrow, I'll post if I make progress.

OK, i've downloaded the ROM to my laptop. I had to use ecu unlocker and had to start my engine before I read it. When you start the read it it turns the engine off, it just gives it the maximum voltage to read with (I believe it won't let you read if the voltage isn't at a certain level).

I've saved it as a .bin file but I haven't been able to open and look at it yet, let alone modify it (I don't actually intend to modify it myself, I just want to look at it).

I'm 110% noob on tuning so if I'm doing something stupid, please please let me know.

When I got my 1.3U cable a few weeks ago, there were no problems cause it was the stock ECU and I was able to download the rom and bin to my computer. First task for me will be to disable my immobilizer to enable my remote start on my alarm. Hopefully if that goes well, I'll feel more comfortable doing other things. But obviously I won't touch anything else until I get my WBO2 and get some bench data.

Are you trying to read on a cold engine? Try starting it for a minute or so then shut it off, and try reading........... mine does this from time to time (first thing in the morning).

Yeah, it won't actually let you read with the car on.

Noob question: I have the bin file from my rom. How do I view the timing and fuel etc tables? I am getting unknown rom message.

If I inherit a definition for it it brings up a little info but no tables. I'm also having trouble with the inherit cause my car is a JDM model and there's no JDM IX on the inherit list. I have searched and I have been able to open a standard VIII hex file to view.

You can read or write with the car on. As soon as you initiate it, it will shut the car off for you. I've done that at least 500x so far.

Doesn't apply to Evo 10/RA.

AndyCT9A, what ROM ID do you have?

If I inherit from (evo9 base) It gives me the following info

Would that make my ROM ID 88770005?
