read codes or log ABS on usdm evo9 with evoscan
Has anyone been able to log or read/reset trouble codes in the ABS computer on a USDM evo9 with evoscan. Is there anything else besides a mutiii that works?
I have been trying with an openport 1.3u with pin 9 pulled on a windows 10 laptop will no success.
Thanks.
Wayne

Well I found a way to read ABS codes on EVO 8 and 9's without a MUT III Mitsubishi Scan Tool.
Several generic scan tools I used were not able to access the ABS codes.
It's rather rudimentary but it works and is actually documented in the ABS service manual.
Simply Bridge Pins 1 and 4 on the DLC (OBD-II) communication port. I used a paperclip with the vehicle running (should work with vehicle not running too). This will cause the ABS light to flash in a coded way that allows for two digit codes to be deciphered based on the flash length.
The number of long flashes correspond to the tenth place and short flashes correspond to the ones place for codes. The ABS service manual has a table that allows you to look up what each double digit code means.

Hope this helps somebody.
