NLTS on V7 (JDM evo VIII)
I'm trying to use the NLTS option on my Evo VIII JDM (Tephra V7), can it be done?
From searching here, I think I need to get a upper clutch switch, but where do I wire it? where do I put the signal in the ECU?
Any help is welcome
Thanks

You'll need to buy the clutch switch and wiring (which you should be able to make yourself). Wire into pin 43 on the ECU. Flash the Tephramod v7 onto your ECU and you should be good to go.
Just double check what I've said, but it should work.

i think pin 43 is the crank angle sensor. you want pin 88 and you need to add stuff in your xml
for the switch, on my JDM evo 7 i used an old Nissan Primera brake pedal switch and used it in place of the clutch pedal stop.
have a read of this thread

as for 2 step. its working fine on my evo 8 gsr using tephra 7 96260009. you need to set the stationary rev limit lower (default 7900rpm) and enable launch maps in the mod options. then use launch maps and add some fuel and -ve timing in the rpm zone you want

Audiofan, do you know which Tephra V7 rom you are running? Assuming that you're using 96260709, then:
Have you wired up a wire to pin 88 and installed an upper clutch switch and have the other wire grounded? Check that that the circuit closes when you put your foot on the clutch.
Have you added the lines to your xml and changed the two words in the rom?

I haven't installed a clutch switch, because I haven't found I definite answer as if this would work. But I can give it a try no problem.
I haven't modified the rom, because I'm not really sure on how to do this, it gets confusing the rom editing and all of that.

You definitely need a top clutch switch installed. The rom fix will be different though seeing as you're using 96530709.
For a start, wire in the switch to pin 88, then log B8 (which should be 8895 in your MUT table). The result won't necessarily switch from 0 to 1 as you test it, but so long as the value changes, it's a good start.

So you have a 3 plug ECU then?

I have a 2001 VII JDM and i gave up trying to get NLTS to work. I have all the bits but no matter what i do once i exceed the threshold rpm (or speed, can't remember???) it hits a weird type of rev limiter and the car jerks. I will investigate one day when i have more time and see if the clutch switch is working properly.
