Help, EcuFlash not working on Windows8

So my old laptop crashed, I was running windows 7 and EvoScan and EcuFlash both worked. I bought a new laptop and I was able to download EvoScan but when I try and download EcuFlash, it downloads, installs the drivers, I accept the EULA's but when I go and click on it to open it nothing happens. I'm running windows 8 and I've tried installing the newest version that says compatible with windows 8 v1.44.0.3721. I've tried deleting and reinstalling it but same thing keeps happening. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. I just upgraded my injectors, turbo and need to scale/tune my car and don't want to drive it until I can get EcuFlash up and running

1.44 seems to take a crazy long time to start up at first. I click on it, and it opens a good minute or so later. My tuning netbook is virus/malware free, and stripped down for speed and performance...and it still takes forever.

Ill try that, I'm gonna double click it then go to the gym and come back. Hopefully that's all it is if it still doesn't work after that any suggestions? I don't think any of the earlier versions will work on windows 8, I'm not sure though.

maybe you don't have administrator rights or there's a read/write rights problem ?
did you delete the sample .csv in saveddatalogs folder ? If I do the program wants to reinstall itself

This is interesting to me. Where in Colorado are you? I'm sure I'll be upgrading to W8 some day, but I was wondering about compatibility.

EvoScan downloaded, but did you log at all? Just curious.

If you want to come up to Northern CO, I'd be happy to look at it for you.

I'm in Colorado Springs, I've logged when I had windows 7 but I currently haven't logged anything with evoscan on windows 8. I just fixed my car a couple of hours ago and was going to input the injector latency and drive it to work.

I'm lost on what to do.

No it just needs .Net and ECUFlash's drivers. What version of .Net do you have installed? Also could you open task manager when launching the program and see what happens to the process? Does it just die or is it running in the background?
