Have changed the load factor to 1.5 in evoscan but 2 probs with ecuflash

1. When flashing the above roms you adjusted to the car it wont fire up. So ive been copying your tables into the rom which was on the car (which is the same rom you sent me..)

2. When i attempt to edit the 2byte to 1byte load factor in ecuflash from 0.0 to 1.5 it wont fire up..

That's the best way to do it.

You have a XML problem. It's not supposed to point 0.0, it's supposed to give 1.2. It's not pointing the right adress. I found what is your ROM, it's made by "donner" here on EvoM and it's a live map 3d SD ROM. Do you or your tuner ever use live mappping? If no, I suggest you a completely new 3D SD ROM and XML (96534706 in your case) , to start fresh on a more popular platform. You will have to copy over all the maps from your 96536706.

I cant say i use the live map and i dont think my tuner does either.. Do you have a link to the rom and xml you just mentioned?

Will it have all the correct scalings for my map sensor (gm3bar)? And what will the benefit be changing to this rom now?

By the way i flashed the most recent timing map you did and tested with 0 knock. could you perhaps give me something quite aggressive as i feel theres alot of room for timing still especially with our pump fuel being 97ron

Thanks for your help mate

The benefit would have been to log 1byte load properly. But there is another way:
right click on "2 byte to 1 byte load factor" in ecuflash and "edit data items"
at adress enter: 3e260
If it now shows 1.2 at your factor, change it to 1.5 so you can log 1byteload properly.

Did you rescale load axis on timing map like I did ? (Do it)

For now, AFR is good, boost is good and you have no knock.... to go further you will need to provide logs with 1 byte load set up properly. And I won't go very agressive as I'm uncomfortable doing so without having the car in hands, and without having good 1byte load logged. I will help you getting the setup on target.

This map is more agressive. It's mild, I'm safe with it and won't go any further for now. I'll need 1 byte load and please check GM MAP sensor in evoscan for next logs

Also, please do me a favor and put important items on top of evoscan log list (select the item i.e. GM MAP, hold CTRL and press the "up" arrow key to move it on top.) Do it with all what I told you to log.

Waiting for 3rd gear logs

Choose inherit from the definition below (last option) and progress until ecuflash opens it. You should have a ROM with only a little bit of information at the beginning. Look at the ROM internal ID + inherited ID.
It should be 96536706, inherited 96530706/or 96532706. What is it?

*after that, you will have to open the 96536706 XML to change the ROM ID at the start of the XML that tells it which one it inherits from. But first start doing what I said and we'll see what to do after.

Ok cool will have a look when i get home from work. If you have rom i sent you there, it tells you the rom id and inherited id at the top of the menu on the left under " +rom info ".

yeah it was ID 96536706 .. .inherits 96532706-v7. It's right this way. I asked you because I think yours is corrupt.
To solve that, you have to open xmls and edit the first paragraph where it lists all the "inherited" ID.

If you aren't able to get to solve the 1b load and XML issue, just switch to:
96534706 ROM
96534706 XML

Don't forget to copy all tables, especially immobiliser and immobiliser hex since the car won't fire without that. It's a 30minutes job worth it, as you'll be able to continue your mapping.

im trying to convert the map onto the above rom now however the original rom '3d ve table' only goes up to 300 load and 8000rpm, where as the above rom has 350 load and 11000rpm. have tried to increase the columns/rows by 'edit map definition but its not coming out right.. any pointers?

thanks

The way to increase them is directly into the map. No need to mess with map definition.

Hey mate. Evo has taken a back seat recently due to renovating my house. Last update being that the 3d sd rom was giving running faults which dissapeared when reverting to a 2d sd rom. Alot of headache and head scratching was down to glitches in the 3d sd rom!
