Evo IX owners/tuners: Can we flag the ECU to turn on the AC compressor at idle

I didn't think this was turned off by design but after speaking with a few locals it seems it is, is this on purpose? If so why? And is there anything wrong with turning it on so the car can be cooled down at idle instead of waiting until you start driving.

Mine isn't cycling. The car basically blows hot air until I start moving and then it gets cold. Any ideas? Spoke to other Evo 9 owners that have the same problem. They were told it basically was by design, I don't believe that.

Sounds like you have an issue with your AC system. My AC blows cold right away & I don't need to be driving...This will be at idle...

The compressor never comes on at idle. Thats why I was asking if there is a way to flag it to turn on in the ECU. I think I can turn it on temp with evoscan. I doubt its the compressor since it works when its moving.

What would cause it not to turn on at idle? Any ideas?

I would start by checking the system pressure.

The system has been bled and refilled a few times while a future vendor was testing his front facing AC setup.

Its not a system pressure/fluid issue, I feel pretty confident in saying that.

Since I put a bigger fan on the halfcut it cools to 195 while moving (it has gotten as low as 192 while moving). Before it would only get as low as 204.
