help with evoscan gauge designer. upload to evodroid7.
ok. I see some gauges made by other ppl such as these:
Some GTR Goodness in the EvoScan GPS
GTR gauges for evoscan navigator
I've tried changing the files extensions to .xml and loading it with evoscan "load/display gauge layouts" button.
but no luck.
1. how do you load other ppl's gauge layouts onto evoscan?
2. I know how to create 1 template. But how do you create and put together MULTIPLE templates to make 1 layout?
3. how do you upload these layouts to the evodroid7?

Hi, when building gauges for the evodroid they cannot be transferred from Evoscan. That was my original mistake...
The Evodroid relies on having two main files:-
1. an image file *.png that represents the gauge layout. As this is a simple image, you can make the gauges as nice looking as you like. It needs to be 800x400 to fit the screen. I created an image in Evoscan and then screen dumped it to a png file.
2. a txt file *.txt in CSV format that defines the gauge needle, its x,y coordinates, sweep angle, start position, etc. etc.
The txt file needs to be renamed to carbon1.txt as this appears to be hard coded into the Evodroid software. The txt file needs to reference the png.
You can use the gauge designer for windows CE that Hamish posted earlier but it puts the needles slightly off.. This software deines the parameters so it is useful from this perspective.
When I get time I will post up the parameters etc. and my sample files. Next step is to get the Evodroid to switch between multiple gauges. It shouldn't be too hard but I haven't had time to look at it in detail.

I am also having a problem loading gauge layouts onto the evodroid.
I'm not so computer savvy so it would be great for someone to put out
A step by step write up for the lesser computer minded
I have downloaded some gauge designed that someone was kind enough
To post. I don't understand the way to reference a PNg file and all that stuff.
If this is not possible I would gladly pay a computer tech to assist in helping with
this. Most of you guys sound like programmers. So this should be easy enough.

Hi thanks for your quick response. Pleasanton is super close to san jose. its too bad I am required to work 60hrs a week. I would have responded sooner. I would like to log, boost, AFR(not external wideband), MAF air temp(not sure if I want this particular one. if there is another sensor closer to the throttle body I would use this instead I have a CO2 setup to cool off the intercooler and would like to see my air temp going into the engine aft the Maf sensor.),and knock, along with battery level, and coolant temp. And timing advance. I seem to like the carbon look(although I have not seen the image on the screen to see how easy they are to see onscreen). I also like the way the GTR with the sweep gauges look. Again thank you very much. this would be greatly appreciated and would like to compensate you for you time/work let me know

I will start a new thread tomorrow for Evodroid gauges.
I will build you a gauge and post it up along with others that I have made.
As for payment, don't be silly - this is a community, this is what we do, right?
