ECU flash pls Help wont read ECU
Hi guys just looking for a little help with ecuflash. I recently got my Evo IX it has been flash tuned by the previous owner not sure which version he used. I just downloaded the most recent version and tried reading the Rom using the plug he also provided with the car. I keep getting an error message looks something like this...
[23:20:13.853] sending init sequence 1 (0001)
[23:20:17.161] sending init sequence 1 (0003)
[23:20:20.468] sending init sequence 1 (FFFF)
23:20:26.521] no response to any known code
[23:20:26.521] interface close
Ive tried charging the battery before reading, ive also made sure that the ecu was not locked. I took a look at the plug provided and found what seems to be a broken terminal in the OBD plug but not entirely sure. Any info to help is much appreciated thanks.

The cable was used by the previous owner for reading and flashing the ecu as far as I know, and it is really cold where I am at the moment, but I did let the car run until it reached operating temp. should have been more than enough to charge the battery. Anyone know if the cable i posted is broken? before I try the ecu unlocker program stated above.

1. ECU unlocker (I know it has been mentioned several times). Open it, leave it in the background then read with ECUFlash.
2. Start your car. With your car still running, start to read with ECUFlash. (I and several others I know do this).
3. If you're trying this option, your ECU is not locked and your voltage is fine. The last time I got this stuck pulling a ROM I used evoscan and it worked first time.

So it turns out its a voltage thing, not all that uncommon with IXs.
