Okay, I'm helping my cousin and so I'm pretty new at this but here goes.

I've tried opening ECU flash and getting the stock rom pulled off but when it completes the process it gives what seems to be a common error of "Unknown rom image".

I've saved the rom and posted it here as stock.srf

It seems that we need a different definition (XML) and so I've downloaded some to put into the ecuflash folder but it still doesn't read anything.

From my best understanding the xml should be 58010005 or a 2012 evo x gsr 5 speed. (US)

I can however open in evoscan and save the file as a hex file (given below) which I can then open in ecuflash and look at everything but I can't test write, write, or change the file in any way.

So what do I do now? :P

I don't have an evo, rather a ralliart, but ran into the same issue because my ecu was flashed due to a dealer recall. It didn't match what was listed on golden evo, but I was able to use the closest definition file to build a new definition file. Does ecuflash give you an option to "use wizard to craft a new definition"?
