MAF to SD no start help.

OK, let me start: I have a 2001 Evo 7 from the UK-LHD, it did not come with a MAP sensor from the factory. The car has been tuned using the stock MAF and I want to go to Speed Density(SD). I have installed a Omni 4bar MAP into the factory manifold location, while also installing a GM IAT into the upper I/C pipe. Also have a Spoolinup SD EDM/JDM Harness plugged into the MAF harness. My tuner has installed the Tephra v7 ROM and I have switched pin 51 & 92 according to Spoolinup info page.
The problem we are having is the car will try to start but will not. Starts for that 1 sec then dies out(stall) like if the immobilizer is functioning, but it has been disabled. If I put the car back to the way it was, on the stock MAF, it runs just fine. So we are a little confused on what's wrong....

I have tried switching wires (51 & 92) back to stock with SD rom-same thing.
We tried to tweak the SD rom-same thing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Willing to pay for the right info that gets the car to start and stay running so we can start the tuning process.

Any questions, please post them so I can answer them here. I want the next person to be able to search and get the answer they need.

Thank you.

Must be a wiring issue
Double check map & iat wiring:
Map:
pin 81 5v
pin 92 ground
pin 73 signal
Iat: #5 & #6 on MAF plug

Are these from a EVO 7 wiring or from an Evo 8 wiring?

As mentioned in my post, I have the Spoolinup Harness for the MAP and IAT, so it should be plug n play, but obviously not........

I will check those pins at the ECU, MAF, MAP and IAT.

OK, was finally able to check things out - findings are:

pin 85 - 5.1v
pin 92 - ground
pin 73 - not sure what signal? Reads 0.06v - AH, I see that is suppose to be the MAP sensor signal.....
on the MAF between pin 5 & 6 - 1.82v

testing was done with engine running at idle and with the MAF plugged in and the old rom installed - not with the SD rom in.

.............

I will do testing tonight with the SD harness installed, SD Rom installed and the ignition in "ON" position to see what readings we get, since it will not start/stay running.

This is the problem then......my pin 51 is the Immobiliser and my pin 92 is sensor ground.

I'm thinking that the Spoolinup cable can't even be used now....?? I can wire the MAP sensor and the IAT directly to the ECU, but would rather use the Spoolinup cable or make another cable to use with the MAF connector.

Any ideas??

Thank you AUSSIE guys for this great information.

Another question: How does the Spoolinup cable get the MAP sensor signal to the ECU? Which pin is it using at the ECU?

AAHHHH: The "MrFred Harness" is the same as the regular SD Harness, but adds an extra foot long harness for Active Baro support through the use of your stock MAP Sensor.

Just a random raaaaaaandom tip. Did you make sure to put in your scaling for your injectors? I was running stock injectors and for some reason thought the tephra maps already had the stock values in (boy was I wrong) they were scaled for around 900cc injectors. Also I would try changing your reading from IAT to the fuel temp sensor to see if that fixes the problem. You can trouble shoot your map from there.

I will advise the tuner about this but I'm pretty sure he has done that.

As far as the IAT to fuel temp, my car does not have fuel temp sensor.....
