I wouldn't do this if I were you. You will have a high risk of bricking your ecu due to flashing a bad rom.

This rom is not stock. Meaning your car has been tuned and flashed before and whoever the tuner is, he or she changed the ROMID to make it more difficult to tune.

The ROM file you posted is incomplete or corrupt. Try downloading/uploading it again and I'll take a look at the HEX data.

Otherwise, open your ROM with ECUflash. You will get an error that says "Unknown Rom Image". Instead of selecting "abort using this rom image", select "Use wizard to create a new definition", then click "Next"

It will give you 3 options to choose from, select "Inherited from definition below", then in the pull down menu, select a definition (like evo10base, or another evo 10 definition (must start with either 5268, 5269, 5557, 5558, 5559, 5689, 5690, 5801, 5802, 5957, 5958, 5959)), then click "Next".

In the next screen that comes up, there will be a box on the bottom half that says "Identifier". Inside that box will be your rom ID.

Once you have your ROM ID, quit without saving anything and you should be all set.

it's 523600xx... probably 18 at the end..

you can edit 0x5002a, and make those 4bytes 52360018, then it should open ok in ecuflash..

and if things dont look "right" then dont edit/save/flash

get a hexeditor?

ultraedit or hexworkshop should do..

you need to jump to 0x5002a (ie the address in the file), and change (NOT INSERT) the 4bytes there to be 0x52360018

open the file in hexworkshop
press Ctrl-G
type 5002a, select hex, hit Go
change the 4bytes
save
open in ecuflash, say ok to the checksum error
check out the available maps to make sure they "look right".. that will indicate whether you have used the right ROMID or not...

ok... to make it "Easier", click options -> preferences -> display options -> general, then untick "Fit contents to window" and make sure the text box below says 16...

you can still edit 5002a with the default settings, but it makes it a bit harder to see it...
