Calling Tephra Please. V7 Issue, gear based boost

Tephra.

I hope this finds you well. I am tuning my 04 VIII, and have run into a snag. Prior to the 4.11 HKS gears, and full rebuild, etc, etc. I was able to utilize the gear based boost in the V7 94170715 ROM. Since the completion and tuning, I am finally to Boost tuning and noticed a hickup I can not explain. I verified nothing is different from Maps prior to HKS 4.11 gears, in relation to gear based boost settings, other than the RPM/Gear table.

I adjusted the RPM/Gear table from stock values(settings that worked):
0
43.98230088495575
63.00884955752212
86.01769911504424
118.9823008849557
178.9823008849557
2899.778761061947

To these values:
0
40
57.21238938053097
78.00884955752213
108.0088495575221
163.0088495575221
2899.778761061947

I also double checked with the new settings, that the crossover point was set to 67 MPH. This is in the Boost Control RPM/MPH crossover table that was used for the earlier versions of gear based boost. My old setting that worked was 75. It was set between 3rd and 4th gear.

I logged several runs last night, and the "Gear" category in EVOScan remained on 1. I looked at old logs from a couple of years ago, and verify that it used to work. My logs also showed me that last night, it was utilizing the 1st gear WGDC column, and the 1st gear Boost desired column. All while in 3rd gear pulls.

Is the RPM/Gear table, or gear ratios hard coded in the ECU? It seems the ECU thinks that the stock 4.5 gears are still installed. SO even though I make those changes in the table, the ECU is not recognizing those changes.

I think later today, its 5:00 A.M. here, I will do a couple of tests utilizing the stock change over RPM/Gear settings, and see what happens in the logs.

I am a little baffled and could use some advice. ALso if any one else would like to add there info or suggestion, that would be great.

Side note, is there a way around the boost cut load table setting of 319 Load? I know there is a double fuel cut load table in the fuel cut category, but what about a boost cut load modifier?

Thanks in advance, and for all you do.

only a couple of days late

hrmm from memory it should all be looked up...

can you try logging MUT22 and MUT23 (together like a 2byte)? that should be the input (0xFFFF8448)

after that can you try logging 0xFFFF8447, which should be the gear output...

So turns out the HEX setting for 6A2C was not set to the active 8A2C. Not sure how that happened. Unfortunately that switch was not in the Tuner Definition XML I recently aquired. That's why it didn't show up in the settings when I compared roms. I have rectified the issue, and all is good. Thanks Tephra

So those settings are working fine? I recently went back to using ECU controlled boost about 2 weeks ago and had trouble getting it to work correctly. I then realized that RPM/Speed would be off as I too had installed a built ultimate ratio trans(IX trans w/ VIII 3rd/4th) with a 4.11 and I'm using the same ROM as well.

Yes. My settings work. These tables are what relate to Gear Based Boost. Of course you tune the other tables, but these are specific to gear based boost. Also you need the attached xml spreadsheet to calculate the gear/speed crossover points. All you do is highlight the final drive and it will change the gearing points. I believe you can also if you have custom gear ratios 1-5/6 you can enter those as well and it will change.
