Can't go past 175 load

I'm trying to tune a 99 GSX with a 2003 Evo ECU in it. I'm running Tephra 7.

For some reason I can't go past 175 load (about 6 psi on logs with a JDM MAP). I've checked every setting I can find and cannot seem to push past it.

Can someone please take a look at my log/ROM and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Car has a 2.4 9:1 with an HX35 turbo if that matters when looking at logs.

I am thinking this is a mechanical issue not a tuning issue.

What are you using for boost control? What psi wastegate spring? Boost leak? Lame turbo?

Thanks for the response. I thought that was the issue at first too but I don't think so anymore.

I'm running two 3 port solenoids. One controls pressure to the top port of my external wastegate. The other controls the bottom port. They're being controlled by the ECU.

I have a 10 psi wastegate spring. I thought that might be the issue even with boost pressure keeping it shut. To test it I pulled the line from the bottom port and I started pushing up to higher boost but the car started stuttering hard like I was hitting fuel cut. That makes me think it is an ECU setting. It also makes me think the turbo is fine.

I tested for boost leaks and can't find anything using soapy water spray. If there is anything it is small.

Ok. You should have mentioned the stuttering. If you log injector pulse width you can tell if the ecu is cutting fuel or not.

You shouldn't need to use 2 solenoids for boost control.

The stuttering seems to be tied to the wastegate not fuel. I logged WGDC and it is tanking when I get on the throttle. I reflashed with a ROM that had 100% WGDC set and I still go to zero when logging. See attached.

How are you controlling boost with 2 solenoids? How do you know which solenoid is getting power

You should switch to one solenoid. Never heard of anyone using 2. A 3 port solenoid should work fine for you. Should be able to boost 2x the spring rate. If you need more out of it, go with a 4 port, if your wastegate can support it. You can boost around 5x the spring rate with a 4 port

Did you change the load limit for fuel cut?

I reduce down to a single 3 port but I'm getting the same issue at the same point.

I was using two solenoids to create a 4 port style setup. I've got a 10 lb spring and want to hit 23-25 psi. The solenoids were stock from a 1g or 2g dsm and I wired them in parallel so they were tripped by a single source. In parallel they measure 34 ohms and I've verified the ecu can trip them.

Can someone open up my files above and see if I've got the settings right? Or should I post screen shots? I believe fuel cut is set at 330 load.

9.6 AFR at just over 6k rpm and only 6psi? What's your injector duty cycle at during that log? lol

Yeah, that needs work. I need to get the car operating right before I can begin dialing in a tune. This is a new build with a new ECU so I'm starting from scratch.

Turns out I needed to do a better boost leak test. My brake booster is leaking bad. I'll replace it and see if the problem persists. Sorry for the trouble.

Boost leaks are fixed and the issue persists. I've tried changing my injector scaling, WGDC tables and I can't find any fixes. Can someone look at my BIN and see if there are issues there?

why does your logged timing not match the bin file you sent?
pull plugs send me a photo,
Lean it out a little, richer than 11 is too rich for it to run well.
