You need the right xml definition file loaded in C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo, before you can open the ROM. You may have a weird ECU ID. Save the file then open it with a hex editor. Look at 00000F52 - 00000F55 to get the ID. It should be something like 96940011 or 96530706.

Make sure you copy over the immobilizer code from the 94170715 ROM to your stocker. That is why the green key is flashing

So you got it started good. You never mentioned poor idle or driveability.

Whats afr and o2 feedback?

Sorry I've been all over. Been gone thought I've mentioned it in another post. Here is what's up..

Ok so bought this evo 8. Long story short 3 owners who had this car built and tuned he sold it got it back and was running like crap. He sold it and I got it from that person. Somewhere along the line the car was demodded and still had a tuned ecu. I just flashed a stock tune onto it, still runs like crap. It breaks up at idle and under any load. I can smell fuel pretty strong. It does have a front mount, charge pipes, bov, turbo mani, and straight piped. I'll post a video. I changed the plugs didn't make a difference. I did check spark in 2 of the cylinder. May try checking all 4. Thought maybe a bad fpr. Not sure where to check besides those. Car has no codes.

Afr are all over not sure what o2 feedback is haven't checked. Trying to upload a video

Oem fprs rarely go bad.
You need to identify its running like crap cause. Misfire.too rich. Too lean. Vaccum or unmetered air.

Saying it runs like crap can be soooo many things

Ya I'm aware. Been trying to post a video. Wideband shows lean till the needle reacts the first line then it get to about 15 14. You can smell fuel from the exhaust. So I believe it may be a misfire. Plugs are new. I did check spark because I did have a no start issue when I swapped the engine harness.
