ill chime in with some anecdotal experience. I change my plugs every 3k when i do my oil, I use bpr7es and decided to try 8's. I didn't even keep them in for the full 3k, swapped em out at like 1000. The car just felt....less good. Same gap and all that stuff, i have a C.O.P. with S2000 coils, 28psi, e85.

I opened them up to a .024 when i did the cop and I had no missfires or issues at all so I left them that way. I did try as large as a .026 and strangely enough i threw a DTC for missfire but it pulled clean. So i took it back down to a .024. Keep in mind i change em every 3k miles so that might contribute to being able to run as much gap. Also my gap tool could just be off so my advice would be to try a few different gaps and feel em out.

The goal of spark plugs is to run the hottest one that works. Too cold of a plug doesn't retain enough heat, and THAT will make the car feel sluggish because it won't ignite the charge as well, it can cause a rough idle and drivability complaints. Conversely, too hot of plug will retain to much heat- and at WOT/high load conditions may cause knock, predet, or just melt, which is also bad.
It's sort of like ignition timing, you need to find the happy medium. Too much and too little both have their down falls.

Yah, just like all tuning its about finding out what works best in your setup. Im actually tempted to try going a half step hotter which i think would be br7es? Just to see how that behaves. Its why i went colder, just to see how it liked it. Im sure at some point compression becomes a factor too, like running aftermarket pistons and raising the ratio probably has some effect on this.

UPDATE: Purchased and installed a COP set up from JDCUSTOMS (shout out)
It was a DIY cop kit with refurbished coils for $200 to my door.
The issue is gone. The car rips to redline now SUPER SMOOTH never has ran this smooth to redline. I have the plugs gapped at 0.19 still im going to open up the gap as big as it allows me to run. OR SHOULD I NOT?
Just wana give a shout out to everyone who chimed in on suggestions.
For future people with similar issue.
I learned alot from this.
A. A Misfire shows lean spikes on wideband.
B. Oem Ignition coils that test good OHMS may still be BAD.
C. COP Ignition really works and the difference is SUPER.
Also wana give a shout out to (LETSGETTHISDONE) He called it months ago that my Original 155k coils were likely TIRED and thus why when i replace my plugs every oil change my car came alive. KUDOS
