Hey guys, I recently got into the tuning side of things and have been tuning the car with regular sd. Ive been reading about the 2.0 version with the 3d maps. I also read that there were some bugs with it but these threads were old. I'm looking for some input on it and is it worth converting over? What do I have to do to convert it to 2.0? I tried to download the files but don't know what to do with it.

When it comes to tuning compared to the 2d how is it better? I saw some pics of the 3d map and it seems to me that you can fine tune a bit more. From what I understand it seems that they fused the sd load ve and rpm tables from the 2d rom into one table in the 3d rom. Either way, how do I upgrade?

i only used the 2d one for a few days and didnt have any luck getting it tuned well. this was also when i first got the evo so i wasnt new to tuning in general but i was new to evos. the 3d tables are more like what i had seen in other ecms so it was just more comfortable for me. i also think it gives better control having the 3d table, but i havent tested that.
overall ive had pretty good luck with the sd2.0 rom.

its the same as any other rom. theres a thread about it and in the first post it has basic instructions.
any sd conversion on these ecus is a fairly advanced undertaking and if you arent pretty comfortable digging around in ecuflash it may not be a good mod for you.

yeah...I would just put them in the rommedata evo folder like I did with tephra files and opened my regular rom...so youre saying this would be as if I was changing rom id for example. When I dl the 2.0 files they were just xml files no bin file. So I would have to download a 2.0 bin file for my rom id ex 9653 2.0 sd and copy and paste all my stuff over?

Yeah mate, in the 2.0 thread there is the updated rom files. So 935647xx is the new rom Id if I'm not mistaken.
it's almost identacle apart from the VE parameters.
the first post (pictures) are important when transferring the sd values over.

Yeah I read it but I'm trying to understand a bit. So map volts vs kpa is not touched. Kpa to load I just copy the values over from my regular sd rom from map sensor ve calibration. Now what the hell is baro vs kpa? What I understand from all this is that the 3d map is both tables from the regular sd rom combined right? I get that everything is on the first page but I'm not fully understanding. I'm asking for a brief explanation so I can decide whether I want to switch or not. Maybe I'm not very smart and need it explained idk.
