Speed density bad iat sensor
Had a sensor go out on me. Luckily I had a extra one seeing that they are fairly inexpensive.
Symptoms: A/F's would be pegged at 9.0:1 during periods of faulty IAT readings. Would happen randomly over a few days, no change in tune. Driveabiltiy during episodes was near impossible to keep idle with the car dumping so much fuel. To fix my issue I simply changed the GM IAT sensor with another unit. Just wanted you guys with similar issues to check the sensor before puchasing new FPRs/Fuel pumps / injecotrs Original sensor has about 2 years on it I believe and was exposed to meth for about 1 year. I'll check my dates later. |
good to kno as i have a spare i had a omni map sensor crap out on me once car would just die outta the blue come to find out the plastic had a really tiny crack.

who needs a IAT sensor? fuel temp sensor ftw! Aaron@ER done lots of testing on the fuel temp sensor.. i use it on every car i tune sd on and the afr is rock solid.

I haven't really looked into the Fuel Temp. Basically look up the fuel temp instead of the iat. You got more info on it?

first i need to resolve heatsoaking issues when the radiator fans kick on. |
How are you tuning the sd with fuel temp? same concept as gm iat, but just use the factory sensor.
What heatsoak issues are you having? |

What heatsoak issues are you having? im having bad heat issues when the radiator fan kicks on it blows hot air into my air intake and instantly drops 50whp. i dont have the front air duct scoop on my car, im ordering it now.. the car never came with one.. im also going to block off the air filter from the radiator airway to avoid this nasty issue. |
I'll stick with the GM IAT for now. Spent too many hours to get where i'm at. I know how it works so i'm content.
Have you tried the scoop idea posted up about a year ago? side note: your engine bay looks almost identical to mine, minus the different colors lol |

update: upper radiator hose is now oem black. http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...3l9/car007.jpg |
i had that scoop setup in my 1g dsm. i dont have anything in my evo for air ventilation right now. i need to build a wall inbetween the rad path and air filter so it stops ingesting hot air.
