Clutch switch LC vs NLTS
Got a JDM Evo9 RS, I previously tuned it using a V7 (88580714) but I never got launch control to work. The car seems to have an oem clutch switch but disconnected. I will connect the switch the pin # 88 & hopefully LC would work. This oem switch is the type that only works if the clutch pedal is fully depressed so I wonder if it would work for NLTS as well? Should I install a different type switch, a one that work when the pedal is slightly depressed?

from memory some evo9's have two clutch switches,
one @ top of pedal that is normally pushed, and one at bottom of pedal i was pretty sure the bottom one was used to stop people from starting the car without having foot on clutch... check the top one? |

Yes the one I have is the bottom one, I think I'm going to install a different switch on top, but would one switch activate both LC & NLTS? What's the correct ECU pin#? |
haha
well im pretty sure the AUDM 9's didn't have a bottom clutch switch, at least we didn't need to push the clutch in to let the motor crank. so i assume that the top clutch switch does stationary rev limitter, which i guess you call LC no idea on pin im afraid, but if your lucky you should have a plug up under the dash just waiting to be connected :) |
I thought the top clutch switch was only for NLTS, and launch maps were enabled by being below a certain speed...? I actually remember testing the launch maps in my car by just sitting still, just using the brakes to hold the car still. I was always able to test my launch maps as long as the car was sitting still. No need to depress the clutch.

Mine is the same way. Clutch switch is only to activate NLTS. Launch maps work off vehicle speed.

I'll try a v5. But Hyperdisorder had managed to successfully get it running on the 9627 v7 rom. I'll try hitting him up

Guys, I am running a Evo 5 with a Evo 7 ECU via a Tephra V7 (90550001), Kindly help me on the below 2 issues:
-> NLTS is not working - If turned "on" I am hitting a weird rpm cut at 5-6K RPM, car work fine if NLTS is turned off - Have wired the grounded clutch switch wire to pin 43 of the ECU -> Valet does not work on fresh ignition - If valet function is turned on for fresh ignition the car is always on the set rpm limit(valet) unable to get out - Valet function work fine if refers on fresh ignition is not tuned on Pls feel free to ping me at sharewithraj at hotmail.com |
