evo 9 bigger turbo lag and ignition retard
 

hello everyone so i have this 2006 evo 9 88590015 JDM and my friends evo 9 2006 USDM 80920002 i am tuning, for the JDM i have two problems turbo lag and ignition retard for backfire wont retard less than -10 i tried -20 but it only allow me to -10 and even with -10 i went to the fuel map and made them 9.5 other than 14.7 but the backfire stopped returned fuel map stock it worked again i searched for ignition retard and found many threads but sorry i didn't understand where and how to edit it so please someone help and tell me for both the JDM and USDM have this same problem while the other problem for the JDM is turbo lag i a bigger turbo than the stock how do i reduce the lag because it wont get into full post before 4000 rpm at 0.8 bar boost thanks for your help

you'll need to insert some of this coding into your appropriate ROM XML. Before doing so, make sure you have a solid understanding on how to edit XML files.

9.5 is most likely too much fuel to be dumping in, try ~11 - 12.

What size Turbo do you have and what is the setup like? Exhaust, wastegate, cooler etc? without this info and looking at the rom there's really no feedback/advise anyone can give you.

i have VF30 turbo stock internals titanium cat delete bigger intercooler oem wastegate and deleted boost solenoid so i open and close boost manually

okay i added the ignition retard limit and i was able to go to -15 cant more and get good pops but i have it from 3000-7500 rpm 10-50 load the problem is when i rev the car it will pop one time or two times but like small pop not that pop that well bring out flames from the exhaust how do i make it do that and can i make it cut igniotion on rev limiter and get fire also ?

Oh i see. that function you added to your timing map is typically used for Deceleration.

What you're chasing is 2 step / Launch Control.

You'll need a teprha Rom for that. Plenty of examples of what your timing map for launch control should look like also.
