Help can not connect to ECU
i had a break in tune on the car and I pulled the tune just fine using ECUFLash. I had a lot of issues trying to re-upload a new file. Now I can’t connect to the ECU at all evo when I use a code reader it states no link. I checked all my connections and checked the fuses. My tunner thinks that it is the ECU but I don’t understand why it would just die. I also have the battery hooked up to another car thinking it was low on power. I am out of options please help!! https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...14aac8771.jpeg |
check the obd connector in the car, maybe a pin got pushed out.

I checked all the pins everything seems solid |

Is that easy to do for someone who does not know crap about it? |
My IX will say that sometimes if my mini battery gets a little low. I'll idle the car for a min then hold it at 3k for 10 - 15 seconds then go key on engine off immediately & hit flash.

I know you mentioned you put another battery on but i had this problem once and i had to attach a portable battery charger to my battery and then connect to my ECU.
|
The car will not start to run and I tried hooking up another car and the battery charger. |
I’m literally lost at this point I just put a brand new battery in it still nothing I checked all the fuses still nothing I checked all the pens still nothing do I have to buy a new ECU at this point.I’ve dump so much money in this car if I buy a used ECU can I flash it to this car |

Also, check the #8 20A fuse in your engine bay listed as "Engine Control" in your manual. If that fuse is blown the engine wont run or connect to ecuflash.
|
Since nobody has mentioned it, do you have the little mitsubishi adapter plug connected properly?
You need it to be able to flash the ECU. |
Yep checked #8 fuse and changed it just for good measure and yes the apapter is connected when I try to flash it. It is as if the ECU just took a crap!! is this common? If I get a used ecu am I able to flash it to the car? |
Are you able to connect to evoscan?
Also, I've notice that if I have another USB device plugged into my laptop while trying to connect to ecuflash it doesn't work. I need to unplug all USB connections except the 1.3U cable inorder to read/write to the ecu. |
I had the same issue you are describing and it ended up being my 1.3u cable. See if you can trade with a friend and verify that is not the case. It is rare for the ECU itself to fail.
