What is the best engine oil?

Hi everyone,
Im picking up my new Evo 7 or should i say my 4 month old Evo 7 FQ300 next week at long last.
I know it's just had its first service by the Mitsu dealer but i would like to put the best engine oil in it as i can.
I have always used Mobil 1 and it has never let me down. In the UK most of the Mobil 1 is a 0w 40w grade. So what i need to know is ....... What is the best engine i can use in my Evo 7?

Is there a better oil than Mobil 1?

Thanks for any input on this subject

Andy FQ300

Mobil 1 believer here... synthetics add hp, and don't let anyone tell you different... it's been dyno proven time and again.... Porsche, GM Aston Martin, AMG Mercedes and many others all use Mobil 1 as original equipment, which is a huge testimonial to that companies worthiness. Check out this site:
www.bobistheoilguy.com
Check out the forums, there is posted analyzation tests of used oil to see the amount of breakdown... Hope this helps!

I always used Castrol RS, then moved onto Castrol SLX in my Honda Integra.

Now that i've moved onto the Evo, i'm using Mobil 1. People tell me that RS can actually damage the evo's turbo, because the oil is too thin - i'm not sure about this, but I've used Mobil 1 in the past on my integra, and although it wasn't as powerful as the RS oil, it lasted me a lot longer. Castrol RS/SLX keeps disappearing after hard use of the car (continual high revs, 5th gear runs), making me have to continually top up until the next oil change - Mobil 1 doesn't.

I'd be interested to hear input on this too..

Make sure you check out all these opinions at a website that does oil analyzation... the one I mentioned previously is good for that.... Red Line is okay, spectacular for their gear oils (for the tranny), but Mobil 1 has beaten them during tests.... Don't believe everything you hear...

For the Germany Autobahn-Drivers. Mobil 1 5W50 or Shell Helix 10W60 or Motul V300
Please, when you want to use a Castrol, use the TWS 10W60.
If you drive in Germany a 5W30, after some minutes full Throttle on the "Autobahn" you will get an expensive damage on your engine.

Oil is like religion. Everyone has their preference. I prefer, in order, Brad Penn Joe Gibbs and Valvoline VR1.
