getting something like a IV is rare over here - unless a US member brings it from Japan. Every once and awhile I see a skyline or such for sell. They are usually looking pretty ruff, but there is the exception here or there. Though an evo is nice, make sure your are within you budget to do things. I know 2 people who bought evo right out of school, one sat because insurance and payment killed him, the other was repoed. Not to say that will happen but there is alot to do here.

Germany does have some good prices on new cars here too. BMWs, Benz, Audis, VW and Minis are cheaper to buy here and you can get them US spec. Personally, I'd bring your Datsun, run it and buy a Bimmer before you leave. BMW has a program where you buy one and BMW ships it back for free for you. This way you can bring them both back.

To the OP. Look at AIG for insurance. This is who insured me when i lived in Germany and there rates were very good. I didn't have the evo when i lived there, but it would be worth looking into. You will be all smiles in the winter when you blast by the traction limited porsche's in the evo!

Well the 200sx is currently not running and i won't have time to fix it before I leave for basic training. I also want to get a newer car, i've been driving older stuff for so long it's time to get something a little more reliable, and i don't think i'll have a problem making the payments i've learned over the past few years how to live on a tight budget. LOL

Feel free to PM me with any questions in regards to shipping over your car or house hold goods. That's my job... And if anybody needs a place to crash if you're headed to Nuerburgring, let me know. I'm right down the street.

What city are you in? Your profile says you're close to the Ring yourself. I'm 27km/16miles from there. It takes me about 10minutes to get there.

I'm AF. Depending on your rank, and if you're single, I would live off base if you're allowed. You make money living off base due to the utilities allowance. E-1 to E-4 with less than 3 years of service must live on base if they are without dependents.
