German Exhaust Noise Level Laws
 

Hey anyone know the db for Germany. I got some pissed of neighbors (I live in a small German village, you could walk around the whole place in 20 minutes comfortably) just trying to get the right info before I go off and prove some Germans wrong again. Theres a EG hathcback and a SRT4 here with exhaust which are just as loud as my Evo and for some reason I'm getting blamed for all the exhaust noise.

I tried researching EU and TUV website and got nothing. Anyway hope someone can help me defend myself.Thanks

do you know exactly what db level your exhaust is at?

Well Tanabe says that the catback portion is 92db, I did not have any problems at inspection, just have some older neighbors asking if I can quiet my exhaust down which pisses me off because the farmers here start messing with there stuff at 0600 which is louder than my car.

The regs here say 90db measured at about 5 feet away, I was over by 2db with a BR TBE and HFC, the HFC saved me and the German inspector liked my car. Just be nice to them and hopefully you get passed. If not take it home and stuff it with steel-wool and go back.

I passed with a test pipe the inspector liked my two, I had no first aid kit, no warning triangle, he had to go out into the cold to test my brakes, and my headlights were not adjust right, one was pointing straight down and the other up for some reason during the shipping and I still passed, its my neighbors that ***** about my exhaust which is funny because the srt4 and the eg hb both are just as loud, lets see how much they hate me when I get my Golf Syncro and going with a full exhaust on that to
