The Shop: EVO IX BR3065 with AEM EMS = 372awhp
i finally did it... my next logical step was to move to an ems since i will build the block at some point and maybe go to a bigger turbo.
The car's mod list is:
- BR tubular 3065 turbo kit
- UR resonated testpipe
- Invidia G200 catback
- BR Race Core intercooler
- Nisei piping kit
- PT 780cc injectors
- single walbro fuel pump
- Dejon 4" intake
- Cosworth M2 cams
- ARP headstuds
- Sun Automotive Hyper ignition
- Denso HKI22 sparkplugs
- Shepherd built tranny
- ACT XTSS clutch kit
- ACT prolite flywheel
And some light parts:
- AMS front support bar
- BR moustache bar
- Nisei light battery kit
- Baer 2 piece rotors
- Kosei K1TS rims
Stock block, stock head other than cams, stock intake manifold, stock throttle body...
The car on the stock ecu made @ 24psi 352awhp on the Dyno Dynamics using 1.0 correction (as is) and on my Dunlop Winter tires i ran 11.97@120 with 1.85sec 60ft weighting 3400lbs with me on 93 octane pump...
Jimmy and the Shop team as always extremely friendly and right to the point. The car was prepped, everything was wired for the AEM and Junior started his magic.
I have to say that i was impressed on the start up.... With all the horror stories for AEM i was very surprised that the car starts consistently. You listen for the pump to prime and you crank... Voilas... the car starts...
Junior spent extra time to make sure that the car starts properly and idles correctly... Then we setup all the parameters on the car, rev limiters, etc etc
Afterwards we strapped the car on the dyno... Again 1.0 cf so i can have comparable data and we started tuning...Junior and Jimmy spent the extra time to make the car run properly, no hikkups....
The result is at 1 psi more to 25psi and the afrs to the low 11s...
What really impresses me is the extra power and torque in the mid-range... from 5500 rpm and until ~6300rpm the car picked up almost 30awhp and 30ft-lbs torque with just 1psi more boost and the pick power is 20awhp up from before...
After being satisfied on the power level since i wasn't looking to push the car more since i am on the stock block we took the car out for road tuning to see how the car is in real conditions... I was really impressed on the AEM features, like the 2step ( i call it bang-bang-boom-boom ), the no-lift-shifts, etc... Also no hikkups and smoother than before with my ecuflash tune...
I should also say that the next day after the car was completely cold, in 30 degrees temp, started right away... no problems whatsoever...
A BIG THANKS to the Shop team, Jimmy for his service (simply unbeatable), Junior for his amazing tune and advice (he will explain every step on the way in plain terms that even an amateur like me can understand)
Also a BIG THANKS to the Buschur camp for their amazing products, the AEM deal that i got and especially i should mention the amazing performance of their Race Core Intercooler which would help the car to make pass after pass after pass without heatsoaking!!!
So with 352awhp and 3400lbs and really bad driving (granmma slow gearchanges as you can see from the log below) the car would trap 120mph on pump....
Now the car with 20awhp more up top and much fatter midrange with probably go faster... Can't wait for the tracks to open again...

The reason is less boost. I changed my boost controller back to a hallman mbc... My boost curve is lower but also the car runs richer than before. I am not a fan of lean afrs on spool since I am still on the stock block.
We will be more aggresive on the tune and boost after I build the block... I have to say though that I was impressed by the responsiveness of the car on the aem when changing the afrs...
Also I should say that I started the car after 2 days parked cold and it cranked with half turn!!! Better than stock! After warm up then it was back to normal with 4-5 turns of the crank... Junior did an amazing job!!!

Since I started measuring the car on 1.0 I want to keep it this way... I have seen 270whp on bpu setup, 305whp on full bolt on with cams on the stock turbo, 352whp on the 3065 on the stock ecu and now 372whp on the aem... I am hoping for next year over 400whp on pump on a bigger turbo and maybe over 500whp on a built block and racegas...
For the time being I am enjoying the car which is very fast for a full out street car...

If you'd like to see the graphs I'll look and see if they are here at home. They may be at my shop, but I'd be glad to post them if you'd like.

Thanks Freddy...
No i didn't... i have the 3-4 gear from the VIII.... Shep Ultimate Ratio
If I remember correctly on my 7980rpm limiter on the stock size tires I can see 125mph... So gear size I am good...

Before you spend any more money, this goal should be attainable without the bigger turbo. I've got a TS GT3076 on my car. Very similar mods to you with the exception of an AMS intake manifold and a Mil.Spec ported TB. Stock block/head/ecu and I was able to get 401whp @ 26psi 93oct. on a Dyno Dynamic and 425whp @ 26 psi 100oct. This was at Dyno4mance in GA. with a correction of 1.0. When my car was making 375whp on pump gas it's avg. trap speed was 122+. I took it back after 401whp and it avg. was 124+. Now on E-85 and 1psi less boost (need another fuel pump) trap speed is aproaching 128.
If you'd like to see the graphs I'll look and see if they are here at home. They may be at my shop, but I'd be glad to post them if you'd like.

I would be very interested on your dyno sheets mate... ... Can you post them here? Defnitely even on the 352whp the car would trap 121-122 with better driving... i need a LOT of practice....

congrats to you! Our setups are very similar. Except my car was road tuned. I am not sure on the power it is making. I would like to think it is similar to yours, but I will have to rely on a friend of mines Gtech as I am not going to drive 3+ hours just to dyno my car. the gtech should return some pretty reliable info given what i have seen others get. i am not real sure of my mph either as i was not logging the VS on the aem
