BBK Full w/ all the fixins, untuned, unhealthy motor

Figured out some of my issues recently and got on the dyno today at MitsuStyle.com spring dyno day.

Car is NOT TUNED for the current setup, BLOWING COOLANT, and burning oil.....and a small (but notable) boost leak! So, it's safe to say these are sub-par numbers

Dyno'd at DB Performance on their Dyno Dynamics, 1.0 correction. ~60 °F.

Pump gas: ~24psi, mid 11's AFR's, 374whp/323wtq.

Pump gas + meth/water injection: ~29psi, mid 11's AFR, 394whp/371wtq

I f*cking love this turbo. The powerband is SO wide its simply insane fun to drive.

Power Mods:

Buschur Racing 3" TBE w/ bullet testpipe
Buschur Racing Intake w/Perrin filter
BR Race FMIC
Custom LICP
BR Upper IC Pipe
OEM IX BOV
Kelford 272 cams
GSC beehive valve springs
ARP headstuds
BR Ported/Coated Exhaust Mani
CBRD BBK turbo
MAP ported/coated turbine housing
BR SS O2 Housing
BR Ported Intake Manifold w/ EGR delete
BR 65MM TB
Walbro 255HP fuel pump
4x Kracka Vent setup w/ ebay catch-can
Buschur dipstick retention spring
Aquamist HFS-1 Alky Injection Kit
FIC 1050cc injectors
GM BCS
Evo X MAP sensor
Innovative LC-1
GM IAT
Tephra v5.10 ROM w/EGT Elim & Direct boost mods

I'll update this once I get my issues sorted out and the car re-tuned

ps--my old setup on a stock IX turbo:
pump gas: 318whp/300wtq
alky: 359whp/347wtq

Oh, and just because I know someone will ask/comment/fail, there is a local dynojet that typically reads 16-18% higher than this dyno dynamics dyno. That puts me in the 460whp bracket for you that like to reference numbers.

Just looking at the graph more. On a stock IX turbo, I made a best of about 360whp on this dyno. Now I make 360whp or more from 5400-8000rpm

I hate to laugh but when I saw the first few lines in this thread, I busted out laughing. Not at what happened but the way you described it.

What are the plans now buddy?

Heh well I was planning on doing a rebuild of the bottom end due to poor leakdown numbers and the oil burning, but now I'm reconsidering just doing a HG and possibly porting the head while it's off. Mostly I want to get it to 100% reliable DD status and keep it at this power level. I think technically its still there, I just need to be really nice to it, but what fun is that!

375whp is about 50whp more than a typical full-bolt-on stock IX turbo evo on this dyno (on straight pump gas), so needless to say I'm pumped. My numbers are right inline with what I want.

There was a guy at the dyno day with a HTA37R that made 394.8whp@28psi (I made 394.2) so needless to say I am pretty proud of my setup. Then again, he's having tuning and other issues too, so we're all in the same boat.

Nice numbers mate.I'm always a little wary of DD graphs with the bottom cut off as you cannot see the mode/cf/ambient temps.
My bolt on is making 385whp on DD with pump gas (93) at 26psi ,currently using hks 272's and going to swap to gsc s2's to hopefully get the 400atw.

Nice numbers scheide. I was curious your car is blowing coolant when you let off WOT ? Thinking that you got a bad radiator cap ? Im having the same problem all of a sudden. NOt to mention driving up to race yesterday my car started to over heat and keeps doing at a stop after a little bit. I think I my cap is bad and not pressurizing the system enough or I have a bad thermostat.

IDK man I posted them just as they were printed off from DB. There's nothing to be wary about, I've been on this dyno a lot and the numbers are solid every time.

IDK man I tried all that stuff last fall to no avail; it was a bad HG and it looks like I somehow damaged mine again Pretty sure it blows under WOT, not when letting off.

Im switching mine out today to see if it fixes the problem. I dont believe I have a bad hg seeing Id be seeing the smoke. My car runs great and never falters just keeps losing radiator fluid and it isnt burning it.

I also see under WOT conditions but its usually happens just as soon as I let off the gas. Im running a CBRD slim rad too so my temps never usually even rise to halfway.

just so you know. 374whp x 1.16 (16%) = 433whp roughly go get all you woos & whoas fixed and hit the dyno again.

A guy on the DSMlink forums made 541whp on the same DB Performance dyno, then went to the MAP dynojet and laid down 628 whp, backing up the +16% difference.

Thanks, but also 394*1.16= 457

Yup, I've seen a lot of cars confirm this statistic. 480whp car @ DB made 560whp @ MAP. 325whp car @ DB made 380whp at MAP. 315whp car @ DB made ~365@MAP.

Anyways, enough bench/dyno racing, I was just throwing a statistic out there for people to note.
