Can anyone say that this new 6262 air cooled turbo chager is better than the older style water cooled version??????

We have shown around 120hp more on a maxed out 6765 vs. maxed out HTA 86.. The 6765 gives up probably 600-800rpm spool.. Hta86 is smaller turbo so it spool quicker and makes less power as one would expect..

Thats going to be tough to show any performance difference... We know its better because you have 1 less part to fail.. the water lines..

Probably too early to really tell but i don't think there will be any gain in anything but reliability (at least i sure hope so)

Thanks for posting that info up Mike!

Another reason i'm happy w/ this size turbo as i do still drive it on the streets and that much lag just isn't what i'm looking........i leave the record setting to you big dogz .........i just wana win some races!

Yea but what about spool up??? Max power??? Power at lower boost levels??longterm and high boost durability???? Is everything supposed to be identical to the previous version???

I don't think I agree here. Why do you say that and what paper tells you that. They are both 62mm unless the precision exhaust wheel is smaller than the standard 35r which I doubt.

I'm just curious as this is the first I have heard of someone saying that.

Great job on the numbers, lets see some vids of you enjoying it!

I am curious to see what would happen if i threw on say an FP 3586 HTA though as on paper it's a bigger turbo probably more similar to the 6765 as other have stated in the past but i think that's a bit much for what i intend to do

incorrect.

3586 is 62mm (HTA82 is 59mm). w/ the standard 35r turbine wheel (61mm). 75lb/min flow rate.

6765 is 67mm. w/ a 65mm turbine wheel. no stated flow rate, but assume in the neighborhood of 90lb/min

the HTA86 isnt even in same class as 6765 and the would be basically a heads up against the 6262 which is 62mm as well, flows 72lb/min (or aroundabouts) and has a 1mm larger turbine wheel over the HTA86.

You guys are right i'm wrong on paper the 6765 is bigger than both

Unfortunatley we don't have all those turbos to test so i can only speculate based off of others information in comparison to the turbos that we have or have tested.

I'd be very interested still to see what an FP 3586 would do if i directly swapped it onto my Evo like i did the 6262.......

I really don't think my stock headed motor would benefit completely from a turbo the size of the 6765

you dont need a ported head to make big #s,but the powerband sure benifits as well as the powerband doesnt drop off as fast with one.check my sig, thats a stock head,t.b. and intake manifold........great info patrick!
