Nice - will be trying a GT4088R on a Supra at some point, have always wanted to see what they are like to drive etc.

Have you ever been in a setup running a ForcedPerformance "Billet" BB turbo? The likes of GT3794R HTAs seem nothing short of insanity in terms of balance between spool/response and power (people have gone from GT4088Rs to an HTA and gained power EVERYWHERE) - I think the EFR9180 is the only turbo I can see giving it any competition in terms of huge power while still being "useable".

the 4088R works well on many engines, but the 2jz is not one of them in my experience. FP does make some great stuff, but once you experience and truly understand what an EFR9180 is capable of there is no competition for it in the current marketplace imho.. everything from the low inertia wheel to the optimal matches, stainless turbine housings.. the EFR technology is no joke

edit shameless plug: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/9272546-post3.html I updated my build thread

Really - what is the problem with GT40Rs on 2JZs? I'd never have guessed that tbh, might be worth investigating further before we get too far....

Hopefully there will be no competition when the 9180 eventually starts filtering through, especially with the level set as high as the likes of the HTA94!

mr lith - its not a "problem" just not a great combination. the 4088R doesnt really love displacement like some other turbos tend to. it does work great for a 1.8-2.3 however
