the owner of this evo 7 showed me pictures of various evo rods and they were all different looking between each year almost.. thinner and etc.
He said a guy on aussie forum blew his evo 7 and he showed evo 8 rods beside evo 7 rods and they looked very different (weaker / thinner etc)

Very interesting Gerrard. Your findings are quite different to what a few people over in Australia have discovered when pulling engines down. The IX internals are a bit beefier than VII's and earlier models from what I have been told. But hey - I could be wrong. I've never pulled one apart myself!
Regardless I am happy with the result and don't want to push it further. It's basically a daily driven car

Well my tune is still going strong after Tom finished it a few months ago. The weather is much cooler now as we're into Autumn (or 'Fall' as you folks call it over there ).
Here's the latest VD graph. Red line is Tom's tune, blue line is my alt map I setup for track duties or whatever. It runs a little less boost + less timing and more fuel up top Either map is still a blast to drive

Thanks Tom I'm pretty happy with ~400hp for now, but will probably get greedy for more eventually
I'll probably go for E85 later this year if I want more power. Should hopefully just need bigger injectors and a reflash. Will let you know when the time comes
