Hey Dave going from the 2.0 to the 2.3 how much more responsive was the car on the street with the HTA86 I was contemplating doing a 2.3 or having you guys build me a 2.0 LR motor. Dyno charts be damned on the real world I feel my car starting to accelerate around 5200rpm and kick you in the *** at 5500.. what is your butt telling you with the 2.3? Because I have honestly thought about going down to a smaller turbo after driving my buddies FPRED evo 9 lol.

GTX is 11 major blades
HTA is 7 major and 7 minor.

They are different designs.
They use different compressor housings too.

Leetevo, Leetevo! Sorry! Thanks for clarifying that!

The GTX is Garrett's billet wheel in a 3076.

Driver weight, depends on who's driving the car. 165-200 lb drivers.

My butt tells me the 2.3 compared to the stroker is night and day difference driving around on the street.

David,

If the purpose is 100 percent street and no dragstrip, wasn't your fp red setup the best setup you said you had? What about 2.0 folks who just drive on the street? Best suited with a turbo like a green or 3082 type turbos? It's a difficult pool of choices. 3586 seems to be suited well if you have a 2.3, but for a 2.0 it'd not be great on the street. *sigh*

Robert at Forced Performance wanted me to try this HTA3076 at 40 psi of boost before I removed it from my RS. I told him no problem, when I got a chance. Well this morning I had a few minutes between dyno tunes and we threw the car on the dyno. I guessed at the boost controller, but since it is a BR controller my guess was on the money The car hit a peak boost of 39.8 psi, I spent no additional time dialing in timing or AFR's, the car is a bit rich up top gets down to about 11.5:1, not horrible and not hurting power but the point is I spent no time optimizing the tune.

Anyway, I will let this graph speak for itself:

That my friends is BAD ***! The un-smoothed numbers came up 609 whp and 610 ft lbs of torque! This is the first car I know of that has broken 600 ft lbs on this dyno. This is the basic power/torque I was looking for when I built my RS this last time and why the 2.3RPM engine lives today, for this purpose 600+ ft lbs of torque.

Unbelievable. This IS the turbo for an EVO. I will have a hard time recommending a Green/Red or anything else to most EVO owners after doing the testing on this turbo this week.

HOLY CRAP! that is awesome.

I am surprised it's able to hold power out to redline with that steep of a torque drop. That turbo is pretty damn impressive.

The power is falling off some, take a look. Peak is 609 and it's down to about 575'ish at 8,000. I am going to post the HTA3586 vs the HTA3076 chart in a few minutes.

True, but still for the torque drop the power holding seems very very good.
