EF2 Turbo's on Pump Gas - 2 Different Setup's - Boostin Performance

This is Sean's (Twnty100drummer) beautiful 06 Evo 9 GSR. He brought it by for a tune on a newly installed MAP EF2 Turbocharger. We took care of a couple boost leaks @ the TB gasket and ISC o-ring. Then it was tuning time! Car was tuned on 25 psi and 93 octane gas.

Mods:
  • 3" Buschur TBE
  • Muse O2 dump
  • ETS 3" intercooler, ETS upper and lower intercooler piping
  • ETS intake
  • Kelford 272's with supertech daul valve springs
  • Ported stock exhaust manifold
  • EF2 Turbocharger
  • Grimmspeed EBCS
  • FIC 1050cc injectors and a 255lph fuel pump
  • Spoolinup COP
  • Comp clutch

This second car is a 2005 Evo 8. It belongs to Jason and is tuned on the Stock ECU Speed Density, and also is on MAP's EF2 Turbocharger. This car, like the first, was tuned on 25 psi peak and 93 oct.

Mods:
  • FIC 1150cc injectors - 255lph fuel pump
  • GSC S2 cams w/ GSC springs and retainers
  • Tomei full Titanium exhaust
  • Stock O2 housing
  • MBC
  • MAP EF2 Turbocharger
  • AMS intercooler and LICP - stock UICP

Nice numbers. Do you have a boost plot? Curious how the curve is....

The first graph is really nice, now i wonder if the difference is due to the cams or 3port vs mbc or e9 vs e8 maybe? Would like to know the details.
Still some great number on 93, is there e85 plans for any of those cars?

The first car has an o2 dump where the second one does not mention an o2 housing at all

I'm not planning on E85 anytime soon, mostly because of availability where I live. I'm incredibly happy with the results as is

No sorry, the first car was still on a stock map sensor. The second car was tuned a couple months ago and I don't hold onto logs that long.

It was an 8.

The second car was on a stock O2 housing and exhaust manifold, the first car had a O2 dump and ported exhaust manifold.

In Sean's car which is the first car, we saw 25 psi @ 3500-3600 in 3rd gear.

twnty100drummer, glad you're enjoying the car and let us know if you need anything

Devin

those are awesome numbers. These EF turbos are aweome. Its dyno plots like these that make me anxious to see what ill make on my setup. im going for 25 psi as well, but i have an EF3, with a 2.3, and tuned on E85. Id be happy seeing a 400 number.

It hits a little harder, but unlike the stock turbo, it pulls all the way through the power band. I don't feel it die off up top!
