The only BBK I have personally tuned that did 500whp had S2s and a Magnus intake manifold. It did exactly 500whp at 33-34psi, pushing it on the stock bottom end as it did make 430 ft lbs. Adding an O2 dump to the mix is an easy way to get more with less.
