I really like those numbers on pump. I love my green as well.

Not to jack this thread Tom, but what size injectors were you thinking to run e85 at say 30psi on a green?

What would be the trade-offs going with the BB Green on this setup instead of the JB?

Do the BB Greens & Reds run the HTA wheel too?

Exactly the direction I'm heading. A small turbo like the green will choke the 2.3 up top, but with enough low end grunt I'm willing to trade that off. Cam choice can open up the top too. Tom recently showed that S3s can be used with minimal loss in spool

I can only go from the info FP states about the BB line. As we know, JB reds and blacks are more prone to failure than the green. The BB line is meant to significantly reduce the occurrence of thrust bearing failure. The only real trade off is cost. For $2500 you could have pretty much any turbo available on the market. BB in theory reduces rotational friction. In my research, that translates to quicker spool (not to be taken synonymously with earlier spool). The real advantage seems to be better turbo response between gears. I can only speculate as to how this manifests into the driving experience, but the reliability factor carries significant weight. Knowing you can beat it up and increase the boost without fearing failure is big, esp since our cars are meant to be pushed hard. If I were to go 2.3, a BB green would most likely soon follow since the increased displacement would prob stress the turbo.

I know a lot of the internal work had to be changed in the BB turbos, so I'm not positive how the wheels in the JB turbos compare to the BB ones. I would think they are still the same since changing them for the BB line would completely change the characteristics we have come to expect of the "green/red/black" titles

^^straight from FP bro. Unusual as it seems, looks like prices have come down from the initial release price.

id probably refer him to the FIC 1100CC high-z injectors. they seem to kick ***.. another brand injector i like is PTE 1000-1200's.

i could say the same to people who run the red over the black.. for another 150RPM in lag and 40WHP more why not just go to a black? lol.

i've ran both the red & black, they both are very responsive and its not all that noticeable between the two imo.

choose your turbo based on your power goals and all is well in the end.

BB green will recover faster inbetween shifts by keeping the turbo spinning longer at all times.. it will spool another 100RPM sooner maybe 150-200RPM? or so depends on how you load it up and so forth on the street.

and last but not least.. durability. the BB system is more durable then journal bearing and can take more abuse, and is not prone to issues with cheaper oils.

off the top of my head i dont know the specs of the wheels, but the red and black share the same turbine wheel on the exhaust side. (i believe 67mm)

The green uses a smaller turbine wheel i think.. don't know the specs though sorry.
