Built 2.0L FP Red S2 Toxicfab tubular e85 & 93oct results

Some seen this posted before. It wasn't posted the way i wanted it to be, so hardly anyone got to see the results due to the thread title and other content not organized in the thread. Me and Ronnie both agreed it needs to be reposted and better organized, so I'm reposting it for you guys. I know most didn't even see it.

Before I proceed, id still prefer the fp black over the red because there is next to no spool loss, and the black gives you an additional 40whp over the red minimal.

First id like to say, Ronnie built the car by himself. He did all the wrenching, and assembled it from the shortblock on up.

Mod list is:

Evo 9 SSL
built 2.0L 9.0:1 (wiseco hd/crower i beam)
fp red (journal bearing)
gsc s2 cams
hallman mbc -> grimmspeed 3 port
4" SD intake pipe
MAP ported stock intake manifold
MIL.SPEC 65mm tb
Toxicfab tubular exhaust manifold
Buschur Race FMIC
Buschur lower pipe
FIC 2150cc injectors
Buschur double pumper
megan downpipe
muse o2 dump
muse 3" vband tbe
muse upper pipe
Tephra v7 speed density

93 and e85 results below: (temperatures outside during tuning - 35-40F)

Are you sure that is a Muse UICP? I can't seem to find the one that looks exactly like this one. It looks to be exactly the pipe I want.

Great results! This car looks like it would be a handful to drive.

Awesome numbers, I'm curious why you stopped at 8k rpms? Seems like a built 2.0L has a lot more rpms in it, and the power is still going.

It is a short route Muse UICP, I got it from Tiago directly at his shop.

It would've been 10.7-10.99 @ 132-133 based on my friends that I raced (both 1g dsms that are in the 10s).

Here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGaUKGObJpI

Car is done for the season though, as seen in the video the turbo didn't last long running 38psi and holding 32 to redline. Now I'm onto the search for the next turbo. Considering a BB Black, T3 3586r, or the ATP GTX3582r.

Gotcha, I was looking at the stock routing pipe and it just didn't make sense to me

Did it take any additional work to fit the short route pipe other than slightly moving the battery to the right?

Thanks!

That's not a stock battery, it's a Mazda Miata battery with modified (cut in half) battery tray. The battery is 1/4" from the UICP and my tie down is insufficient so it moves and touches it but with a custom tray and/or tie down it would be perfect.

turbo. he raced his friends 1g that traps somewhere around 136 until the end of 4th and the 1g was only able to get him by maybe 1 car. so the car was definitely pretty quick.

but if a red cant handle 32-33 at redline without self destructing on a 2.0L and a black can take 40.. ill take the black all day. this car would of made way more power on the black.

personally i think the red was ready to go before he even installed it. he got the turbo for free as well from a friend.

either that, or it was a combination of not having proper baffling in the oil pan and no kiggly hla etc to keep the oil in the pan, then the turbo got starved seized, and grenaded.

if you want to see the turbo we can share it.. its the most brutal turbo failure i've ever seen. the wheel broke off, the shaft split in half. at 32-33psi at redline i wouldnt expect it.. but i guess the red is either no where near as capable as the black is at redline, or this one had an issue from the beginning.

i've been running my fp black at 36-37psi at redline on a 2.3L for over a year now with no issues.. and that is pushing it 100% to its limits.. mines dbb though. but my car has the hla, the baffled oil pan, all that stuff.

he is leaning towards something along the lines of a 3586R with tial vband housing. 3076R is to small.. he wants something big. 3586 or 6266 or something along those lines.

I will share them later on in a few hours.. you wont expect them to look this bad. ive killed a few turbos myself, and never did they look this bad. i think it had a lot to do with the oil pickup tube sucking in air.

after i got a baffled oil pan, proper catch can setup, and ran good oil i never had a turbo issue since with my fp black. (ball bearing / his was jb and used)
