evo 9 GSR Stock block & head & FMIC / MAP EF4 93oct @ 29psi

This car put out some really solid #'s for its minimal mods. I really enjoy tuning a car on 93oct when its good quality 93oct. What surprises me the most is how well the car handled it with the stock FMIC. Usually the stock FMIC sucks. If you're trying to make power on 93oct or something similar, the FMIC should be one of the first things you upgrade!

Fuel: 93oct (Pittsburgh, PA)
ECU: Tephra v7 SD / Ecu boost
Temp / boost: 65-70F / 29-30psi

Mods:

Stock Block & head
Stock cams
stock front mount intercooler
full ets short route intercooler piping
MAP EF4 Turbo (Ported + Thermal Coated)
MAP short runner exhaust manifold
curt brown ported Megan O2 housing
FIC 1100cc injectors
Modded walbro 255
Grimmspeed 3 port
Tephra v7 + SD / ecuboost

Graph:

Thoughts:

Car makes very solid power for its minimal mod list. I slowly fed the engine boost as the RPM's went up, and that keeps the engine happy and the torque down at low RPM. I could bump the torque up downlow, but there is absolutely no point in doing so when the customer is 100% satisfied with the results and his vehicles performance as the car currently sits.

Thank you Rob for being a great customer and choosing my 1 year subscription service for your vehicle.

Thanks a ton Tom! I'm sure you spent alot of long nights working on this tune and it shows, you extracted unbelievable power out of this setup. I am very happy with the results, describing the power would be endless power right to redline, the stock turbo fell off quickly in high rpm, with this ef4 is pulls like a freight train. Thanks Tom!

I like ure boost curve. Ive been doing this kinda thing ever since ecu boost came out. And not even for the reason of saving the block. I just like how it feels. A more progressive power delivery. And it keeps the EGTs lower in the mids, allowing a bit more to be squeezed uptop.

I'll also be interested to see how long the block will hold up with that much boost. I'm used to Subies where their **** will blow up if they see anymore than 23 lbs.

Man that is some serious power. How would you rate this turbo in terms or reliability vs FP Red vs CBRD BB-K Full?

He installed a ETS 3" FMIC he purchased through me so i will repost a new graph once its done. im going to feed it alittle more boost downlow to get the tq curve to look nicer and funner.

I would of had him do a 3.5" but i didnt find out we did a 3" until it was to late. the 3" should still help substantially over the stock FMIC though.
