I ran 800+hp for a year and a half with a double pump setup on a hobbs. I never had an issue, but the threat is there if a switch or pump fails. I forgot to hook it up once and went out to street tune, fortunately I was watching the wideband and let out as soon as I saw it go lean as it was building boost, but im sure if u don't catch it soon enough some damage could be done, but honestly I think as long as your conscious of how it's supposed to feel and alert you can prevent melting stuff down.
Needless to say if i ever have that issue again one time is enough to confirm somethings wrong.
Ya that's a good idea also. A lot of people do that.

You are correct. We set it that way because the owner was having problems with spinning in 3rd gear. This was the only way to stop it.
Now that its colder it spins 3rd no matter what though.
It could come all in by about 4800rpm in 3rd. (evo 9 trans gears).
No need to pray. Even though pressure switch failures are rare, it does happen.
That said, there is a fail safe in the tephra v7 that allows us to monitor voltage from the wideband, and if that voltage is showing to lean of conditions we can force the ECU to lower the boost via ecuboost.
I plan on doing this. I just have to run a few things by Mychailo about it first.
